Second Roundup Verdict Resurrects Unanswered Questions for Shannon Watts

What role did PR Director Watts play during her watch?

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “A jury found that a man developed cancer from exposure to Roundup weedkiller he used in his yard, in the second case to go to trial over the alleged harms of the popular Bayer AG product,” The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

The first case was one reported in AmmoLand Shooting Sports News last August when a California jury found the company’s products containing the chemical compound glyphosate, “‘contributed’ substantially” to groundskeeper Dewayne Johnson’s terminal cancer. The reason for reporting on that here is that Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Action was a high-profile communications executive for Monsanto.

Her LinkedIn profile I referenced at the time of  that report documented Watts was Vice President of Corporate and Public Affairs Company for PR firm Fleishman-Hillard from 1998 to 2001, claiming she “Directed [a] seven-member team that identified and managed issues and crises for clients, including Monsanto Company [and] Bayer Corporation.” From 2001 to 2004 she assumed the position of Director, Global Public and Corporate Affairs Company for Monsanto, where Watts says she “Provided corporate communications strategy and support for Fortune 500 life sciences and agricultural company.”

Curiously, while her earlier LinkedIn page showed the Fleishman-Hilliard connection to Monsanto, her current profile, modified presumably by her since my last report, has deleted that reference:

A May 2018 report on the Johnson lawsuit in the UK’s The Guardian was headlined “Landmark lawsuit claims Monsanto hid cancer danger of weedkiller for decades.” That means the alleged hiding of “cancer danger” was going on during Watts’ watch. And more than just hiding:

“Monsanto ‘championed falsified data and attacked legitimate studies’ that revealed dangers of its herbicides, and led a ‘prolonged campaign of misinformation’ to convince government agencies, farmers and consumers that Roundup was safe, according to Johnson’s lawsuit.

Since Watts has an influential voice in shaping public policy through demanding gun laws, it’s fair to ask, in her executive capacity, what role she and those reporting to her played, if any, in promoting Monsanto’s products, and in reputation management/damage control efforts.

Or is it more likely the Global Public and Corporate Affairs Director, whose media expertise would be needed to defend the company’s image, was intentionally kept in the dark?

Ggroundskeeper Dewayne Johnson must have been taking a bath in this stuff daily, who uses that much of the product, did he not read the instructions and application data?

Watts can change her profile but it is forever on the internet as it was in original form.

Monsanto is not a good company anyway. They have been trying to genetically change corn and other ag products to be adaptable to their needs. They just found a someone to buy the Roundup brand before they got their due diligence over it’s harmful effects.

Her expertise in deception and misdirection is exactly why Bloomberg tapped her as the mouthpiece front for his campaign of lies designed to undermine our individual liberties.

She knew what was happening at Monsanto and it was her job to make sure that no one outside of the small inner circle at the company would find out. It would b great to be able to raise this on her social media pages but she always blocks anyone who deigns to present her with facts or questions that are off script from her anti-2A narrative. She’s a paid spokes-liar.

Wait a sec, Doesn’t Watts bill herself as a stay at home mom? Apparently she is not and uses her PR resume for gun control. Wonder how much shes’s paid for her ‘act’?

Juries don’t determine science and that some lawyers convinced a jury that this man deserves a payout has not bearing on the fact that science says Glyphosate does not cause cancer. In fact, it’s less toxic than table salt. Multiple independent studies have shown that fact, including a 30-year study of thousands of farmers and their families. https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/long-term-study-finds-that-the-pesticide-glyphosate-does-not-cause-cancer-30635

Congratulations on the dumbest post of the day. The link you posted even has the word “opinion” in it. Nearly everything you read or hear others speak is an opinion. It was the juries Opinion to return a guilty verdict. Your opinion that glyphosate does not cause cancer is simply and only your Opinion, just like the researchers that do the studies. Me stating that this is the last sentence that I will write on this reply is a Fact.

Monsanto /Baer buys their science. They are polluting the world with their poison and should be stopped. Thank goodness there are people with integrity fighting for Truth and justice!

Good Morning Vietnam! We woke up this morning seeking a little sunshine and music from the song birds, …instead we walked right in to an ambush of Bloomingturds.. A Climate Change in Business, but not as usual, translated as dollars with no common $en$e. Folks, this is what happens with mob rule; sporting their anti-social agendas, a Kangaroo Court that isn’t fit for a carnival show, or a zoo! Oh, but the longing brought by anguish… from the never ending saga of the blind leading the blind, who enjoy justifying the wicked, condemning the just, and calling evil good. The… Read more »
