Kentucky: Committee to Consider Firearm Seizures Without Due Process

Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- On Friday, November 22nd, the Kentucky state Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary will consider so-called “red-flag laws.”

Though no legislation has been introduced, such laws usually allow for Second Amendment rights to be suspended and firearms seized without due process.

Please contact leadership of the General Assembly, as well as the committee, and urge them to oppose these firearm confiscation schemes.

“Red-flag laws” generally allow courts to suspend individual Second Amendment rights without adequate due process. Such orders are typically issued after an ex parte hearing where the individual is not present to challenge allegations or face their accuser. These hearings have low evidentiary standards that fall well below the norm for removing fundamental constitutional rights.

Again, please contact the leadership of the Kentucky General Assembly, as well as the committee, and urge them to oppose legislation that violates our fundamental due process rights.

The only thing these red flag laws will accomplish will be a lot of US flags draped over the coffins of LEO who were forced to (or willing and if that is the case who cares, they reap what they sow) carry out these unlawful actions.

Finnky

@DF – Do you really think that only LEOs will die during forcible gun confiscations? History to date has been just the opposite. Just as with the Houston home invasion earlier this year, all LEO jump to defend each other – and innocent victims of cop violence are demonized. Every time a LEO is killed during one of these home invasions, they will up the force used for future invasions. Good luck defending your home when a fifty man team attacks in the middle of the night using armored vehicles, 50bmg machine guns and drones armed with explosives.

Politicians who fall for the red flag laws are cowards who have failed their people. They don’t have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for their people and challenge the attacks on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, they simply fall to their knees and bow to the left. They sentence themselves to be thrown out with the trash, by the left. The left will then, when they get the power they want, trash the people and the country. The left has the guts to destroy the country while it seems those who call themselves conservatives and stay home on… Read more »

The Constitution is no longer the law of the land when red flag laws are enacted. Who will remove these treasonous vipers who blatantly create unlawful policy and go unchecked?

tomcat

Red flag laws have never been a part of our judicial system and it shouldn’t now. There are laws on the books to handle crazies who want to harm themselves or others. Due process is a big part of treating people fairly. Red flag laws do just the opposite.

I’m reading a good book right now. . Resistance to Tyranny by Joseph P. Martino.

Wild Bill

@ Rotts, Me too! I got a copy because someone, here, recommended it.

I dropped out of the NRA shortly after members of Congress were calling for membership lists, and the NRA supported anti-gun political candidates. This was several years ago. I finally had to threaten them w/a postal stop order if they didn`t stop bugging me. They used to be a fine organization. In many ways they still are.The eddie eagle curriculum was good, but public schools wont touch it. I liked Neal Knox. But I will not join them again.

Christians aren’t funding anything. You see, “The Federal Government, with the cooperation of the Federal Reserve, has the inherent power to create money–almost any amount of it.” ~ The National Debt, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, p. 8

ALMOST? Why only ALMOST? What keeps them from printing ALL they want? You? Me? Your dog? A full moon?

@USA, If it was printed by the US Mint in Denver, how can it be counterfeit? Where did you hear this?

Dude, you really need to be taking your medication before posting.

Your continued lies make me sick. The NRA has NEVER supported Red Flag Laws. Your ignorance is manifest. It is too obvious, you are a democrat stooge that spreads disinformation. You should TRY telling the truth and stop crying over the BATFE banning your plastic bump stock toy. THAT alone tells me everything about you. They are not “constitutionally-protected Rights” (correct grammar added by me). They are constitutionally-enumerated Rights. The American People protect the Rights by force of arms. Cowardice keeps the American people on their knees, kneeling to tyrants and obeying unconstitutional ‘laws’. Cowardice allows tyrants to usurp the… Read more »

Your attack is rewarding you with down votes. NRA LEADERSHIP did support ERPO’s and the bump stock ban. As for the rest of your statement…IT IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. And many on here want to sit in the comfort of their living rooms rather then be training in a STATE MILITIA on a cold winter day.

Arizona Don

You are correct there is a link to NRA above where that fact can be checked out! They as a matter of fact are fighting red flag laws right now.

OMG…the “burning pit of sulfur awaiting”. That proves to me you’re into superstitious belief systems.
