Ammunition Comment: On the state of ammunition ordering today, July 2020. All of us at AmmoLand News are well aware that there is very little to zero (0) inventory of in-stock ammunition in the popular .223, 5.56 or 9mm calibers that we can link to in daily deals. Any that we do find currently in stock sell out in minutes or hours. We continue to list Sportsman’s Guide as we have been in communication with their top executives and they have told us they have every intention of filling orders (within the limits of FTC rules). At least they are giving customers the option of pre-ordering to have the ability to get in line for ammunition purchases and they do not charge your credit card until the order ships. If you are signing up for the SG Club Membership those charges do happen so that must be considered before ordering. Regarding existing order cancelations with SG. According to FTC rules if the delivery date on ammunition you already ordered gets pushed back SG has to cancel your order or in some cases give you the option to stay in line but for the new delivery date. If any of the pre-ordering, waiting, and running the risk of cancellations or other delays is a problem for you please do not order from them as we have no ability to address any issues with your order once you place it with Sportsman’s Guide which is a third party retailer from AmmoLand News. We are living in crazy times.

It seems a very odd way of attracting new customers. I WAS going to join until they cancelled my order on the same day they were taking new orders. Not joining now.
Ammoland, why don’t you take their money for the ads and then just don’t run the adds, tell them you ran out of space, they should understand that business model an it would save us all the popups!

MB

Don’t waste your time, they won’t have it at this price & free shipping. They will cancel your order, then a few days later tell you about this great deal for $50 more and $19 shipping…

Spanky

More click bate, expected availability is SEPTEMBER 21 2020 and the shipping isn’t free unless you’re a member yet there’s no place on the website to become a member.

but they’ll cancel your order before then, I’ve done it twice thinking I’d have extra in the pipeline at reasonable prices.
They realize they can’t afford to sell at today’s prices tomorrow, so they string you along and cancel.
Read my post below.
Sportsmansguide now officially SUCKS!

Spanky

That’s incredible!!! Just looked at this again and now it’s expected to be in on November 2nd 2020! Don’t forget to add shipping to the total cost also.

Finnky

@Sparky – reading statement at bottom means of article, they are legally obligated to cancel order if they cannot deliver by promised date. They have already suffered reputations damages – but perhaps they are better off offering a very late date with option of earlier delivery if able. Guarantee January, with hope of Halloween and I might go for it – but this is maybe November or maybe never. Heck way things look now if they guaranteed February 2021 or double my money back I’d jump on it if price was reasonable. Could even have sliding price (higher) for earlier… Read more »

Looks like I’ll need to warm up the old press and get some reloading done this year!

GAMtns

You have to go to their website to register. But they’ve moved the date to November. Way too vague for me.

Don’t even bother On 15APR2020 I ordered 1000 rds Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ for $189.99 ($0.189 / rd or $9.499 / box of 50) On 25MAY2020 I received an email asking me to confirm if I wanted to leave the order on backorder awaiting arrival in stock. I replied yes. On 11JUL2020 I checked status on the website. It showed CANCELLED. I went back to the email asking me to confirm if I wanted to remain in backorder and clicked the link again. I attach a screen capture of the automated response. It clearly says “You had previously notified… Read more »

oh yeah.
I’m about to be done with AMMOLAND for continuing to list these “deals” too

Finnky

@xtp – If ammoland was not clear enough that this not under their control, user comments should have provided sufficient warning.

Big Bill

Don’t bother.
I’m one of many who have discovered Sportsman’s Guide simply will not honor it’s offers.
It’s false advertising.
And Mr. Riehl should start reading the comments.

JoeUSooner

“Expected Availability” is now 21 September!! No, thanks.

Cam

They will can le your order way before that

Black Powder 26

I agree with comment by MB. Ordered some 9mm previously through this Ammoland advertisement and they sent me back an email saying the ammo would not be available, so they cancelled my order. Tis is the second time this has happened. Do not waste your time! While not a scam, t comes close. Go to Ammoman, ot Natchez or someone else. I have purchased items from Sportsman’s Guide and for the most part they are fine, but skip ammo.

Dave in Fairfax

SG is not going to be running ads here in the future. We’re letting their present ads timeout.

Old Fogey

Thank you. This is good news. The ads are aggravating.

Knute

Particularily when the item is not available, and most particularily when it never will be and they keep stringing you along for 3 months, and then just cancel your order anyway, as they did mine…

Khanj42

Miss me with this “pre-order” crap. If you have something on your shelf to sell, tell me how much you want and I’ll decide if I want to buy.
