Knife Rights: Michigan Knife Rights Act Passed Senate

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- With a bipartisan vote of 66 – 38, the Michigan House voted final passage of our Michigan Knife Rights Act, HB 4066, that was passed by the Senate last week. This is Knife Rights’ signature Knife Law Preemption bill. Once the bill is enrolled, it will pass to the Governor for action.

As soon as the bill makes it over to Governor Whitmer’s office we will ask you to contact the Governor using Knife Rights’ Legislative Action Center.

We sincerely appreciate the efforts of sponsor Representative Andrew Fink in getting this bill through the legislature. We’d also like to acknowledge again how much we appreciated eight-year-old Remington Wilson’s testimony in support of the bill.

Knife Law Preemption is a Knife Rights’ criminal justice reform effort that nullifies existing ordinances and prevents new local ordinances more restrictive than state law which only serve to confuse or entrap law-abiding citizens traveling within or through the state. Preemption ensures citizens can expect consistent enforcement of state knife laws everywhere within a state.

Knife Rights drafted the model legislation and passed the nation’s first Knife Law Preemption bill in Arizona in 2010 and has since passed preemption bills in Alaska, Georgia, Kansas, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

I’ll venture to guess that it isn’t ‘if’ she will veto the bill but just how fast she will do so. My guess is there isn’t enough support to over ride the veto. ;-(

Bubba

I hope you are wrong.
I fear you are correct though. 🙁
Witless Whitmer is done come election time. We all hope….

Wild Bill

Well then, maybe her veto and any other slights and reproaches to the people may help guarantee her political demise.
