.410 “GAUGE”? Not! .410 is a caliber, not a gauge.
You know that always gets me. 12, 10, 20 gauge but 410 is not normally referred to as a gauge or a caliber in my experience it is always called a 410. But, a 45 fits into a 410 chamber like the Judge by Taurus and the 45 is referred to as a caliber? Go figure.
There’s no real system used for naming cartridges. Or more accurately, there’s a bunch of incompatible systems.
Ever wondered how a 38 Special cartridge fits into a .357 Magnum cylinder? Isn’t .38 too big to fit into .357? In actual fact, the part of all of the “38” cartridges that measures 0.38 of an inch is the freaking rim! More S&W magic. Guess what. Their “44” cartridges don’t use bullets that measure 0.44 either!
I know what you mean. I reload 5.56 which is supposedly 223 but I shoot 224 diameter bullets. I have noticed that these new bullets that have a softer outer shell like Barnes are 358 for my 357. You really have to pay attention to what you are doing and buying now days. I sent them back.
What a waste of money. One shot one kill. Maybe a snake. Not a man. A littlemore will buy you a striker fired 9mm pistol of ar least 15 rnds.
Obviously you have never seen what a 410 slug does to deer. 1 shot center mass and you call the coroner to clean up the mess.
I used to carry snake shot in my 357 mag while horseback riding. one shot lined up for the first shot in the gun, 5 on my belt. One good shot at the head and they are dead but they die slowly so be careful. Your next tool should be a shovel to chop off the head and bury it.
I have the Brawler, looked at the ad for info on the holster, there was none.
Why do i own one? I have numerous revolvers chambered in .45 Colt which I’ve reloaded for 25 years..so I have loads of brass and even a bullet mould for 255 grain.
And it’s just what the doctor ordered for those pesky ruffed grouse that hang around my deer stand. A 3″ .410 load of #6 isn’t too bad on recoil, but it’s more than a .44 mag….
I did NOT buy it for self defense. That’s dumb.
Anybody that wanted a 500 Magnum but could never afford it will find weapons such as this make excellent low budget substitutes. And for close quarter happenstances it might be superior!
