The next ammo shortage is standing on our porch and knocking on our doors. Lake City Arsenal has halted civilian sales, ostensibly to support military actions related to the Israel situation. Additionally, about the same time as that announcement, there was an explosion at a Hornady plant in Nebraska which killed one and injured two. I wish I had 5000 rounds for each gun I own but sadly some I have to load myself 3003 is an oddball and some other black powder cartridges are do it yourself……but good on all other fronts if prices go up on 12 gauge slugs will dump a few k

While still in high school I bought a Springfield M1903A3. Due to my limited budget, I fed it MilSurp ammo from local gun shops. Most if not all of it was WWII production. Just from memory I remember having head stamps from SL, DEN, RA, and of course, LC. So in WWII the DoD operated at least four, and probably more, plants making small arms ammo. Cool on the 1903A3! I have one but have not fired it in over 50 years. It belonged to my biological father, I believe a DCM purchase. That sounds neat, those diverse old headstamps you bought back then!
