In an article in last month’s edition of The Jerusalem Post, the author notes that in the West, we must pay attention to bitter lessons painfully learned during the October 7, 2023, intrusion and (still ongoing) aftermath.

Drones and “loitering munitions” are not the exclusive province of high-tech, Western militaries! Sophisticated technology is available to “low-tech,” asymmetric terrorist organizations, and they have no compunction about putting it to use, as we see!

Fighting in built-up areas, where non-combatants and refugees (many sympathetic with terrorist causes) are endlessly mixed-in with active terrorists (some organized, some operating independently) will be the likely setting for the next big terrorist “event,” maybe in Western Europe, maybe in the UK, maybe within CONUS.

In 2023, Israel’s ossified/bloated political and military bureaucracies were nowhere near nimble enough to effectively deal with a large terrorist event in a timely manner. Today, NATO’s are no better!

The author makes the case that excessive civilian casualties associated with Western military retaliatory/restorative operations will “damage our (perceived) legitimacy”

Funny!

Such “damaged legitimacy,” owing to wanton civilian casualties, has never concerned Putin during the Ukraine War. “Damaged legitimacy” is apparently an issue only in the West!

My comments: For us, individual American citizens:

Don’t become a hostage! Hostages rarely survive, as we often see.

Terrorist events will likely occur in metro areas, where terrorists enjoy much sympathy among leftists. Metro areas, leftist enclaves in general, are thus good places to avoid.

Large gatherings/events, particularly those with religious and/or political themes, are best avoided, as are large sporting events and galas.

Wherever you find yourself, be prepared to:

• 1) Hold out for days, maybe weeks. Adequate food, water, medical supplies, flashlights, cash, at home and in your vehicle. Power will likely be out, maybe for extended periods. Have a way to stay warm. Help is not on the way!
• 2) Fight your way out! Go armed. You’ll need pistols, military rifles, magazines, ammunition, and the skills to use them effectively and keep yourself from harm.
• 3) Communicate. Cell phones will likely not work, nor will landlines. Have battery-powered radios, maybe more sophisticated communications gear.

I fear we will witness terrorist events soon, as the slaughter of Christians in Africa is right now being ignored by the Western media.

Many are dying. Many are being taken hostage. Don’t be among them!
