BELLEVUE, WA --(Ammoland.com)- Frustration must be mounting for the gun control crowd because now states are going after law abiding gun owners.
A man was arrested in New York for having 3 too many rounds in his legally registered 9mm. Another infringement is a proposed law in Illinois that could land you in jail if you forget your firearm’s paperwork.
Every week a new city or state is pushing for more unconstitutional gun control. We were able to stop California’s governor from signing into law what would have been the most strict gun control law in the United States. But more and more keep popping up and we must stay on top of our State Governors to let them know we will not stand for these proposals.
We must demand every one of our State Governors do not sign anymore anti-gun proposals into laws. They are the last defense for our states and must protect our Second Amendment rights along with the interest of their state’s citizens.
The SAFE act was passed in New York which dropped the legal maximum capacity for a magazine from 10 to 7. It is unclear how this could reduce any sort of violence in the state but seems to be introduced as a headache for law-abiding gun owners.
A man in Lockport, NY was arrested for having a 9mm in his glove box because the 9mm had 10 rounds in its magazine. When the man was pulled over he told the officer that he indeed had a firearm in the glove box. The 9mm was legally his and the man had all of the required paperwork for the firearm with him. Upon checking the 9mm and counted the 10 rounds the cuffs were slapped on the man and he was arrested for unlawful possession of an ammunition-feeding device.
The charge should have read, ‘arrested for 3 extra bullets’.
The Lockport police department said they were being compared to Nazi’s on social media. The United States should be ashamed to have a law such as the SAFE act. The Second Amendment Foundation has already filed suit against New York and their SAFE act. Now you can fax Governor Cuomo directly and tell him to stop this wave of anti-gun legislation in his state and all over the country.
Proposed Illinois House Bill 2265 is not interested in slowing down the murder rate in the murder capital of the nation, Chicago, Ill. They are trying to impose felonies with minimum 3 to 10 year sentences for not having the correct paperwork or ID card.
The exact verbiage proposed is, the law would create and impose harsh mandatory minimum felony penalties ranging from three to ten years in prison for those who carry a firearm without a Concealed Carry License (CCL) or possess a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID). In most states you do not need a Firearm Owners Identification Card and in many states you can possess a firearm at home, have a firearm in your car, or have a firearm while hunting or camping without a CCL.
A completely innocent law-abiding gun owner could be ignorant to the new law, if passed, and wind up spending years behind bars for having a legal firearm with him/her. How can Illinois avoid concentrating on their outrageous gang violence, illegal gun crimes, and murder epidemics but propose a bill such as House bill 2265?!
We must continue to make a difference in each and every one of our states. When we band together we cannot be stopped. Anti-gun efforts bring in more than five times the money that we do every day but we continually knock down their anti-Second Amendment agenda.
It is important to understand that Second Amendment Patriots are making a difference. Anti-gun proposals, anti-gun laws, and gun control advocates are being stopped in their tracks every day by Patriots all across the United States.
We need to remember that when our Government was formed and our Constitution was written it was designed to give the states, not the Government, the power to decide for themselves. In a time where Government is growing exponentially it is important to remember that our state can control its own destiny and does not have to follow in the footsteps of big brother.
SELECT HERE TO FAX ALL 50 STATE GOVERNORS: TELL THEM TO STOP THIS WAVE OF ANTI-GUN LEGISLATION FLOODING OUR STATES!
Sincerely yours,Alan M. Gottlieb
