Virginia Democratic Candidates for Senate Seats Cant Be Bothered to Answer Questions if they Support 2nd Amendment

Virginia – -(AmmoLand.com)- VCDL has sent surveys to the candidates in the upcoming January 12, 2010 Special Election for two Senate seats — Senate District 08 (Virginia Beach – formerly held by Senator Stolle) and Senate District 37 (portions of Fairfax County – formerly held by Senator Cuccinelli).

Both of the Republican candidates have responded to the VCDL survey Strongly Pro-Gun.

Unfortunately, neither of the Democrats have responded…?

What are they hiding? Why are they afraid to publicly take a position on this important issue? Why don’t they want you to know their position?

Failure to return a completed survey frequently indicates indifference, if not outright hostility, toward the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Below, I have listed all the candidates in the January Special Election. Those who have already answered the VCDL Survey have a double asterisk (**) before their name.

If you live in one of the districts below, please contact the campaigns of each candidate in your district by BOTH email AND phone. Urge those candidates who haven’t responded to answer the VCDL Candidate survey. Be sure to contact Steve Hunt and Jeff McWaters and thank them for returning their surveys and for their strong and open support of your right to bear arms!

Not sure what District you’re in? You can find out at: https://conview.state.va.us/whosmy.nsf/main?openform (Only your address info is required on this form.)

  • District 37: https://www.vcdl.org/images/SenateDistrict37map.gif

Don’t accept vague generalizations such as “the candidate supports the 2nd Amendment”. Remember, anti-gun zealot Chuck Schumer can probably say that he supports the 2nd Amendment, but his view is that it does NOT apply to you.

Find out what their real positions are by politely and firmly insisting that they complete the VCDL survey and send it in immediately. If they have misplaced their survey, have them contact me at [email protected] and I’ll email them another copy.

Thanks for your help!

The right approach to remedy the lack of knowledge on the Democratic side is to provide fact-based briefs to key constituencies. I have discussed this idea with several members in the VCDL leadership and I think there will be an effort in Virginia to provide direct briefings to Democratic Committees in 2010. The Democrats are not the enemy, but some very misinformed Democrats have been allowed, for too long, to steer Democratic Party policy on gun issues in the wrong direction. I believe with better information, presented in fact-based briefings to the state and local leadership committees, Democratic policies toward… Read more »

Just the fact that he believes there is a "Gun Show Loop Hole" shows he has no idea about gun ownership in VA and is repeating the same anti gun BS of "I believe in the 2nd amendment as long as I get to decide who it applys to…"

He should call up his like minded buddy Bloomberg for some election support.

From Bill Fleming's website: "I don’t actively hunt right now, but I own more than one weapon. That said, over 80% of Virginia’s citizens reportedly feel that the firearm gun show loophole should be closed. If I want to purchase a weapon, my personal preference is to buy it from a reputable licensed dealer who will stand behind the transaction, and unlicensed dealers selling equivalent guns to a those of a licensed dealer strikes me as unfair competition for licensed dealers. Since there appear to be extenuating arguments for leaving this so-called loophole open, I would need to talk with… Read more »
