Kansas City, MO -(AmmoLand.com)- Team Smith & Wesson’s Captain Julie Golob, secures her 8th International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) title at the United States IPSC National Championships hosted by the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, FL.

Fresh off a Second Overall finish at the United States Practical Shooting Association Area 8 Championships in the Single Stack Division, Golob set her sights on her first U.S. international practical shooting title. The U.S. IPSC Nationals featured 18 dynamic courses of fire that tested speed and accuracy. Competitors faced a wide variety of challenges from long, run-and-gun field courses to precision shots out to 35 yards in the two-day match. The event not only crowned the top international style practical shooters in the nation, but also served as a selection match for the 2017 IPSC World Shoot.

Competing in the Classic Division reserved for Model 1911 handguns, Golob used her Smith & Wesson Performance Center 1911 with sport customization by metal smith Pete Single, Federal Premium American Eagle 9mm ammunition and Safariland holster and belt rig to claim first among the women in 12 of the 18 stages and the Ladies Classic Division National Title.

“This was my first U.S. IPSC Nationals. Thanks to the dedicated match staff, it was both a demanding and fun event,” said Golob. “Being awarded my first Classic Ladies National Title is something I am proud of and it also puts me in an excellent position to represent the United States on the world stage for the upcoming IPSC World Shoot in France.”

Golob closes out her season in practical shooting with a return to the Universal Shooting Academy where she will compete once again her Smith & Wesson Performance Center 1911 at the USPSA Limited-10 National Championships.
