FREDERICK, Md. -(Ammoland.com)- Heritage Training and Shooting Center, a full-service personal protection training center, shooting range and firearms retail store that focuses on safety and education, announced today that it is opening its doors to those aged 15 years and older.

As way to further cultivate a family-friendly culture focused on education and training, the Center is encouraging all families to make firearm safety a priority in 2017 and will be offering free Family Firearm Safety Clinics on January 14, 2017.

As a way to increase awareness for safe and responsible personal protection tactics for the whole family, the Heritage Training and Shooting Center lowered its age limit to 15 years.

The move is also in response to the growing demand for a family-friendly space that is safe and comfortable for people of all skill levels. Heritage Training and Shooting Center has two state-of-the-art, 12-lane, 25-yard ranges that feature specialized air-circulation systems and TargetWorx retrieval systems.

Customers aged 15 – 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 21 in order to use the range or possess a firearm.

Heritage Training and Shooting Center will be hosting a free Family Home Firearm Safety Clinic on January 14, 2017 as a way to encourage families to make firearm safety a priority for 2017. The 20-minute clinic will be offered on a rolling schedule throughout the day from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and will provide participants with and overview on safe firearm handling rules and procedures.

These clinics are ideal for families with children 15 years or older looking to increase knowledge of firearm safety.

Participants can register online.

“We’ve created a truly unique atmosphere at Heritage Training and Shooting Center and many of our clients have told us that this is a place they feel comfortable bringing their families to learn about safety and personal protection. We listened to that feedback and are proud to welcome participants 15 years and older,” commented Jim LaFleur, President of Heritage Training and Shooting Center. “Safety is a key component of what we do at the Center and we’re challenging all families to set a New Year’s Resolution to make firearm safety a top priority in 2017. We’re here to provide guidance and education along the way and our free clinic on January 14 is the first step in achieving this resolution.”
