Trump to CPAC: ‘We Will Protect Our Second Amendment!’ ~ VIDEO

NEWTOWN, Conn – -(Ammoland.com)- Speaking before a packed crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday morning, President Donald Trump received one of the loudest cheering responses when, after ticking off a list of things his administration plans to accomplish, he told the crowd:

“And by the way, we will protect our Second Amendment!”

It was the first time in recent memory that a sitting president had referred to the second tenet of the Bill of Rights as “our Second Amendment.” Historically, presidents and other politicians have simply alluded to “the Second Amendment.”

It was the kind of moment that had not happened during the previous eight years at the CPAC gathering. On the campaign trail, Trump had repeatedly promised to protect the right to keep and bear arms. Indeed, Trump has been challenged by Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation and chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to “make the Second Amendment great again.”

Do you need to be a citizen of this country? I think so! What about the poor guy who pleaded guilty to a misd. in 1974 and paid… Read more »

National Carry Reciprocity is a first step, but then ATF classifying the AR platform as a standard rifle, continuing to reaffirm ownership is protected, suppressors not classified as weapons, removing these childish magazine restrictions and putting conservative judges on the Circuit to stop socialist lawmakers all move this to a more balanced position.

Make national conceal carry law
Jersey is out of touch for people that are properly trained and have a justifiable need to carry a weapon for protection

FedGov cannot make that law.. it is already law. The right to keep and BEAR arms shall not be infringed. Congress must assure that interstate commerce is “made regular”, that is, that it happens unfettered. A right or liberty enjoyed by a citizen in one state must also be recognised in ALL the others. Perhaps Congress and Trump could draft legislation defining certain terms in ways to make the original intent of that Second Article of Ammendment so crystal clear all the issues we deal with now would be gone. Define terms such as “arms”, “militia”, “keep”, “bear”, in ways… Read more »
