FL Bill Denies Due Process & Forces Confiscation, Gov Says He will Veto Pro Gun Parts

This is our last chance to stop SB 7026 from going to the Governor, who threatens line item veto of pro-gun provisions in the bill!

Nevadans' Second Amendment Rights are at Risk in 2016!
FL Bill Denies Due Process & Forces Confiscation, Gov Says He will Veto Pro Gun Parts

Florida – -(Ammoland.com)- Today, the Florida Senate passed a bill that was designed to appease the gun control lobby.

SB 7026 will deny law-abiding gun owners due process of law, and force the confiscation of firearms parts and accessories which are owned lawfully today by many Floridians, creating hundreds if not thousands of INSTANT FELONS!

Many legislators who opposed the bill today, did so because they wanted the bill to strip you of even more of your rights; only a few legislators stood tall today to protect you from an unconstitutional attack on your rights.

What is happening right now in your Florida Legislature is as complicated as it gets. This horrible bill is the result of combining a pro-gun bill which would have allowed school employees to be armed in voluntary programs implemented by individual school boards and designed by local law enforcement, and a pure gun-control bill which would have banned “assault weapons”, impose universal background checks, etc. – literally the litany of so-called “reasonable” restrictions.

The result is a bill that both puts guns on school campuses, which is a non-starter for anti-gun proponents and imposes unconstitutional and arbitrary restrictions on an enumerated right, which is a non-starter for pro-gun advocates. Among the gun-hater’s warnings is a $400-million price tag to implement all the bill provisions.

But the $400,000,000 proposal put forth by anti-gun legislators does far less to save lives than the $1,000,000 proposal advocated by Florida Carry and FASTER to train teachers in trauma first aid and the defense of their classrooms. We are working to educate educators and legislators but can’t do so without your help. Contact your FL House reps today and tell them that we need solutions that will save lives without turning gun owners in to criminals.

“To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the law abiding that their rights and liberties depend NOT on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and lawless.” ~ Lysander Spooner

Throwing $400,000,000 at a problem is not going to solve it.

Missouri Born

All this knee jerk reaction because one nut who bought firearms legally did the nasty killing of innocents in a gun free zone that the feds and local police didn’t stop when they had the chance and were warned of him.
So lets take away the constitutional rights of honest gun owners who don’t break the law, this will really solve the problem.
What are these fools thinking, I guess they aren’t thinking.

Wild Bill

@Missouri Born, Oh, “they”, the lib/progressive/ socialists, are thinking all right! They are thinking that they need to disarm America before they can fundamentally change American into a nonreligious, undereducated, socialist country run by certain elite, families.

My finger still hurts from emailing all my Florida state representatives This bill in addition to every other bad thing it does bans bump stocks No grandfather clause for those of us who already legally acquired this product Of course a bump stock has never been used and even a single crime in Florida I can only hope that both the arming of teachers will stop the Florida house democrats from voting for it and the anti-gun provisions Will stop the Florida house Republicans voting for and this bill will die in the house If it passes and the governor… Read more »

Just like Stalin, Mao and Hitler, they will use the children to enslave us. The MO of tyrants never change!

Whodaty

That’s what MOs are all about. Why change a process that works to achieve your goals? I’s a step in a long game.
BTW didn’t see anything in the bill about also changing the voting age for these problematic, irresponsible, immature and occasional violent children to 21. Should be one way or the other.

Joe Capuano

This is Rick Scott’s last term, he can’t be reelected. Been a RINO all along…..going to be a tough one to stop….but fellow gun owners and email your people in office, let your voice be heard,,,,

Laddyboy

This anti-American florida governor sounds like his has forgotten his OATH of OFFICE to DEFEND the Constitution. IT needs to be RECALLED and kicked out of office for dereliction of duty.

This is the message sent to the House:

Social Problems are not resolved by vitiating any of our Bill of Rights and herein its 2nd amendment. The language is explicit and in part most clear, “…shall not be infringed…”.

Kindly contemplate your vote accordingly.
