Trump Calls for Gun Confiscations, Then Due Process!? ~ VIDEO

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- Politicians say some outrageous things.

But what Trump said yesterday truly was scary — terrifying is a better word.

“Take the guns first, go through due process second,” Trump said in a meeting with GOP leaders and anti-gun activists including Dianne Feinstein, who was cheering him on from the sidelines.

As reported , “President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.”

“I like taking the guns early … to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump said.

Even Vice President Mike Pence tried to reign the President in, suggesting he respect due process and the Second Amendment. But Trump would have none of that:

“Or, Mike, take the firearms first, and then go to court,” Trump responded.

Newsflash: Confiscating guns before due process destroys due process. There is no going through “due process second.”

Every person reading this, regardless of party affiliation, should be very frightened.

Now, Trump says stupid things all the time. So what?

Here’s what: Ideas have consequences.

Trump Calls for Gun Confiscations
Trump Calls for Gun Confiscations

If Trump, as Commander-in-Chief, decides to act on his totalitarian beliefs and go for people’s guns without court orders, then he will officially establish himself as a dictator and tyrant.

Right now, it’s up to congress to fulfill its duty as a check and balance against this federal threat by refusing to send any gun control to Trump’s desk for signature (for he will gladly sign it) — OR actively stopping Trump from using Executive Orders to activate the military or police to begin knocking on doors.

In fact, this is the whole point of separation of powers — to stop any future authoritarians from crushing the rights of the citizens.

Unfortunately, that future has apparently arrived early.

The really chilling aspect of all of this is, Who gets to decide who is deemed too “dangerous” to own guns?

How about disgruntled ex-wives and ex-girlfriends calling in to “report” you to the authorities?

Or what if someone — anyone — has a grudge against you and provides a “tip” that you’re a “dangerous” person?

There will literally be nothing to protect you as a lawful gun owner from these baseless accusations. Trump’s America will become a guilty-until-proven-innocent hell on earth that no one will be able to stop … certainly not our impotent, bought-and-paid-for congress.

And what about due process coming “second,” as they’re trying to claim … AFTER your guns are taken away? Will you be able to afford the time off work and hundreds of thousands of dollars of legal expenses to fight to get your rights returned to you?

As a reminder, this all began last week when President Trump opened the floodgates on gun control, urging GOP leaders in congress to ban certain gun parts and “enhance” the so-called background check following the most recent school shooting in a Gun Free Zone.

WGO warned that Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn was trying to ram his “common sense” gun control package through, beefing up the National Instant Check System so it would deny your right to buy a gun for completely arbitrary reasons based on phony science and so-called “mental illness.”
These control freaks are trying to punish gun owners for the criminal acts of others.

The big unknown still is whether Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson and House Speaker Paul Ryan will stand their ground.

Just how bad is the situation?

Trump declared: “I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks!”

And according to a Feb. 15, 2018 story (Paul Ryan on Florida Shooting) in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Ryan was confronted by reporters about making the background check system more powerful and seems to be conceding.

“He added that Congress may need to take action to make sure people with mental illnesses don’t ‘slip through the cracks’ and get guns,” reported the Sentinel.

“If there are gaps there, then we need to look at those gaps,” Ryan said.

In other words, Paul Ryan is keeping the door open for more gun control.

ACTION:

1. Call Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. Paul Ryan and urge NO GUN CONTROL – and to stand strongly in opposition to Trump’s calls for trashing due process and the Second Amendment.

2. Call the White House and politely inform them that Trump has lost the support of gun owners. That’s all you need to say.

Please take this seriously.

Thank you,

P.S.- President Trump is demanding national gun confiscations — targeting people deemed too “dangerous” to have guns … but deemed too dangerous by whom? Please contact Sen. Johnson and Rep. Ryan at the numbers above. They must oppose Trump’s dangerous calls for gun confiscations and stand for due process.

Wisconsin Gun Owners

About Wisconsin Gun Owners:

WGO works for grassroots gun owners, not politicians. While many gun lobbies fight for “reasonable gun control,” WGO sets a higher standard: Defining the terrain of pro-gun political battle. Sure, many groups claim they’re “pro-gun” – all the while they provide cover for anti-gun deals cut by politicians – but only WGO truly informs gun owners, remaining committed to a 100% pro-gun position. We oppose all gun control – regardless of the political party – and work tirelessly to restore the Second Amendment. Visit www.wisconsingunowners.org

Hold on folks, take a deep breath, repeat. What Trump said is already happening everyday. You get arrested for a crime, they get search warrant and go to your home, office, boat, trailer and storage building and take you guns and ammo. You are charged with a crime(s) but will have your day in court later. California has a special weapons team that will go to your home in the middle of the night fully armed with rifles, dogs and flash bangs, if your name shows up on their “Prohibited Armed Persons File,”11 also known as the “Armed Prohibited Persons… Read more »

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

tofues

yeah you can hear him yourself

Jim Dorris

The biggest problem with having due process after the confiscation of guns is that the government will never give them back.

Blaine Nay

Context. You left out the context.

In context. the president was specifically referring to an urgent situation such as domestic violence. If a man wants to kill himself and his family, should the cops wait until a judge says its okay to take his weapon(s)?

C’mon, gun-rights activists, we are (or ought to be) better than to fall for, or to perpetuate, fake news! Get the full story before parroting nonsense such as this!

DrSique

One problem with confiscation prior to adjudication(other than the obvious violation of constitutionally protected rights) is that it wouldn’t stop someone from buying another gun and, possibly, carrying out the very crime for which they were accused of plotting. That said, most state and local jurisdictions already have provisions for those who are deemed a threat to themselves or others.

Please call the President immediately at 202-456-1111 or 202-456-1414 and tell him you do not support gun control laws.
This is your chance to actually do something.
Be polite and courteous, dont scream these are your rights.

Maybe I will vote for Oprah next time instead at least the lies will be out in the open.

Rock

I’ll BET the Prune Frankenstein sitting next to him got VERY moist when those words came out of his mouth……. Had to use a spatula to remove her from the seat…

Wild Bill

I think that president Trump does not know the first thing about the Constitution or Bill of Rights. His main concern is the American people. The DNC will use that concern to mislead him and try to separate him from his voter base.

Keith Dorset

Oh, hell. Any chance that video was edited?

Blaine Nay

Yes, Keith, it was. The statement is taken completely out of context — probably on purpose.

@Blaine Nay sorry to have to agree with you but Trump was in go after the guns mode. I’m not sure who turned his crank but he was as serious as a heart attack. Whether he was playing the dope on a democrat rope or if he meant take our guns without due process. The whole meeting was anti gun on his side and make the new law even stiffer is what he said to RINO Toomey and who knows Manchin. I watched the whole thing and heard it with my own words.

tomcat

@ Blaine Nay I meant to say DISAGREE with you

Green Mtn. Boy

It would appear Mr. president needs a refresher course on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, that or he maybe in need of voters.
