Correct me if I’m wrong: On February 28, on the subject of national reciprocity (a Congressional bill to have every state honor all other states’ concealed carry licenses), didn’t Trump say “Yeah, that’s not gonna happen”? I wasn’t the only one to write that that comment cost him his 2020 reelection. (I found it more revealing of his true colors than his outrageous “seize the guns first, go to court later” statement.) Did anyone from NRA leadership question him about that in Dallas? If Trump doesn’t affirmatively reverse himself on national reciprocity, I won’t be the only voter to support… Read more »

We’ve discussed this, pros and cons till we’re all blue in the face. Now the proof will come in the remainder of this President’s term. Will he pressure Congress to pass pro-RKBA legislation and defeat anti-gun bills or will he cave to anti-gun forces and try to force a “compromise”? If it turns out to be the latter he will deserve our undying condemnation and deserve to be soundly defeated along with any who support him. @Vanns, Yes, in that case, Trump would deserve to be soundly defeated, but lose to whom? Would we rather have Bernie Sanders, or some other Democrat? Personally, I am going to keep writing letters and sending emails to him.
I don’t think Trump realizes that banning a gun part (e.g. bump stocks) is a violation of the Second Amendment. So before getting to an unthinkable future situation, there is a lot of learning up for us to drill into his head.
