Apex Announces Failure Resistant Extractor for M&P M2.0 Pistols

PEORIA, Ariz.-(Ammoland.com)- Apex Tactical Specialties announces the release of its new Failure Resistant Extractor for the M&P M2.0 model pistols from Smith & Wesson.

Apex Failure Resistant Extractor

Like its extractor for the original M&P models, the Apex Failure Resistant Extractor for the M2.0 models is designed to ensure consistent and reliable extraction under the most adverse conditions. Critical engagement surfaces and hook geometry are machined by wire EDM. The result is tolerance variation that is an order of magnitude smaller than using conventional machining techniques. This allows for a drop-in part that will function with the reliability you have come to expect from any part bearing the Apex name.

This and other upgrade components for the M&P M2.0 pistols are available for order now.

Features and Specifications:

  • Provides consistent, reliable extraction
  • Works with all current Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 model pistols
  • Easy to install
  • Apex Part #: 100-168
  • MSRP: $45.95

Retailers and wholesale distributors that have not yet ordered and wish to stock the new extractor can contact Apex at [email protected] or (623) 322-0200 for pricing and quantity availability.

I haven’t heard about any S&W M&P M2.0 pistols having extractor problems, so does this part actually serve any purpose other than making money for Apex?

Phil Auten

Absolutely, Hank. Is there a problem with the extractor in M&P 2,0 pistols? And why is the need for these parts not explained in the article?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Early M&P’s had some extractor issues, but S&W quickly addressed and took care of those issues. I know that LA County experienced some extractor failures during their T&E of the pistol. I have not heard of any issues with the 2.0. I have 5 of the 2.0’s I use when I teach and they all have several thousand rounds down range. I’ll keep running the factory extractors until they prove they don’t work.
