Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- A college lacrosse player at a Florida university was told by his coach in June that he had to choose between the team or posting his hunting and firearm pictures online.
“You want to play lacrosse for PBA [Palm Beach Atlantic University], you won’t post pics of your guns and stuff. That’s simple. You want to continue to post this – you don’t play,” the coach texted the student on June 27.
The pictures depicted law-abiding, non-threatening behavior. In one example, the student is smiling after a successful duck hunt. In another example, he is holding a holstered firearm.
The student responded to his coach saying he did nothing wrong and that if he had to choose between lacrosse and his constitutional freedoms, he’d choose his freedoms.
The university responded formally to the student’s complaint and said the student’s pictures did not violate school policy and that they had spoken to the coach about the issue.
This is yet another example of an anti-gun authority figure feeling emboldened to attack a student for his pro-Second Amendment beliefs. The men and women of the NRA are sick of hearing stories like these.
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the “lobbying” arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Hank, I think you are exactly right. The student’s name is Zach Scholl he played lacross for this school for 3 seasons before they brought in the new liberal from NY. You should look at his Instagram page – this looks to me like an outstanding young man. I did a little searching and here are some names of those we should be contacting to express our disappointment with the new coach and his liberal bully tactics. Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach: Stephen Tempone, Ph: 561.803.2559, email: [email protected],edu Person who hired Tempone – Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics: Carolyn Stone, Ph:561.803.2333,… Read more »
Thanks for those email addresses, Jon. As I explained to the “coach” and to Ms Stone, as an educator for 30 years, I find his behavior disgusting. He scorns both the first and second amendments and has no place in any educational institution.
Rock why are you picking on Hippy biker ? He is on your side, regardless of where he started out in life. We that support the second amendment have to stick together , not divide ourselves.
I think you have lost sight of the goal, because you are so busy trying to be right, instead of doing right.
Unity brother, not division. When we fight among ourselves, we give the other side the power.
Did the universities conversation with the coach include Good Bye?
I would like to say one thing, THERE ARE OVER 4 MILLION GUN OWNERS IN NEW YORK , we fight like hell to keep our second amendments rights . Our big problem some of them will not get off their butts and get out to VOTE. they think it’s a lost battle .LIKE HELL I IS , VOTE and we can Rid our state of the trash in Albany and save the SECOND. And YES I have said this before and i will say it again GET OUT AND VOTE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

another communist-core d-sucker educate-whore attempting to control, kinda like the j-urinal-ists who know what we all need – just ask them
WHY THE IS THE COACH’S NAME OMITTED FROM THE STORY?!?! There is NO valid reason to preserve the anonymity of people like that – exposing them to the clear light of day should be a given. Remember, sunlight is the best disinfectant!
Sounds like it could be worth a few bucks, but on the other hand I would love to see the asshole lose his job.
I lived down in South Florida (Palm Beach County) for 8 1/2 years. Generally speaking, the further south you go in the state the more that you find the socialist anti-gunners. By the time you get to Fort Lauderdale and Miami it’s like you living, gun wise, in New York City or Washington D.C. with palm trees.
This is the type of people we entrust to educate our children, often at the expense of our tax dollars. We have been asleep at the wheel as this infection of liberalism has ruined our centers of education.
I’m a proud Florida citizen, although I grew up in Illinois. Too many GD frigging Yankees from the east coast come down here and decide they want to bring their Bull Sh*t laws down here with them! Word to the unwise…Go back to your Cesspool and take the contents with you!
Illinois is NORTH and was part of the Union (Yankee) side. So you ARE a YANKEE transplant to Florida and SHOULD be pro gun unless brainwashed by the Florida, Dems/libs and sun. Most true Yankees are PRO GUN. Illinois, your home state has become VERY ANTI GUN (63 shootings/12 murders last weekend. No guns allowed for the law abiding citizen, so no one can protect themselves) as are N.Y., Cal, MD, NJ. Now if you mean those states, SPECIFY those states. I am pro gun, pro U.S. and in Pa and what you seem to classify as a Yankee. The… Read more »
OK. I guess I was kind of vague . When I said northeast, I meant NY NJ CN MASS RI DC and MA. I tooove. En at cyclist fo over 50 years and used to ride an 48 FLHS Shovel. Ride a Triumph Bonny now. As for being a lib/dem, No Way! We do have a lot of people from those States and lot of them are rabid antis and super libs, and they enjoy telling you what you need, not what your rights are.
Dude, you are an idiot. I’m from Illinois originally and outside of Chicago, most of the state is pro-gun. At this time, around 20 counties have declared themselves gun sanctuary zones.
In Minnesota, we have the Winter weather to discourage the influx of rabid liberalism, but the do congregate down in the twin cities. Seven of 87 counties swung the state to democrat. Wish we could fence that area off and ignore it.
@Huapakechi, Yeah, you have your finger on the pulse there, brother. I do believe that the conflict is urban v. rural, and not repub v socialist dem or conservative v liberal.
Is there a follow up story yet? The coach should be fired. Period.
No doubt the hoplophobe coach will bench the player as retribution. The student should go ahead and sue now. Nice guys are going to finish last in the fight to keep our Bill of Rights.
sue this d-sucker into the ground
