Shopify Bans Franklin Armory & Firearms Industry From Shopping Cart Platform

Minden, NV – -(AmmoLand.com)- Reputable firearms manufacturer and industry innovator, Franklin Armory, received word late Monday evening that their e-commerce provider, Shopify, will soon interrupt their lawful commerce of firearms and components due to a sudden change in Shopify’s “Acceptable Use Policy (AUP.)”

The new AUP was presented without warning and included a new definition of “Restricted Items” to include flash suppressors, threaded barrels, pistol grips, and even magazines larger than 10 rounds. All of these items are legal to use in a majority of states across the country, yet Shopify is interfering with Franklin Armory’s lawful interstate commerce.

Because of their lawful commerce in firearms, Franklin Armory has previously been discriminated against by financial services companies such as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citigroup, First Data, Intuit, and Pay Pal. Social media companies such as Facebook, Google, Youtube, and Twitter have also operated under discriminatory policies to throttle down the reach of firearms manufacturers.

Counsel for Franklin Armory, Jason Davis, stated, “The firearms industry is under an unprecedented attack from the leading facilitators of interstate commerce that deny legitimate firearm businesses access to important structural supports of modern business.”

Jay Jacobson, President of Franklin Armory, went on to say, “History is replete with examples of discriminatory practices employed against various societal segments. In almost every case, our nation has legislated equal protection for those segments to prevent unfair practices and discrimination. If Congress does not act soon to provide equal protection to all businesses, it is not too much of a leap to see how only approved businesses or people will be able to buy or sell in future financial markets.”

Marcia:

As memory serves, there was at least one bank located in Colorado that offered hand guns as “instant interest” also.

Boycott every single one of those business entities mentioned above who dare to hinder American values. Let them know how Dicks Sporting Goods feels with their precipitous sales numbers, their fall in stock price, and their declining revenue. We don’t need to be contributing to the financial well being of a bunch of traitors !

Being attached/based in CANADA explains it all…Libtard owned and operated. Someone based here in the U.S. needs to start/open a network solely for the markets and shops being deleted/banned by the anti gun, liberal, Dem backed providers. If what is happening isn’t enough to show the Dem/Soros/socialist ties with the internet and it’s providers, you need help. It’s time to pull and POOL all shooting, hunting, firearms related sports from the even remotely anti firearm networks, into a friendly network(s) for the pro gun, conservative, PRO AMERICAN Republican shopper. Hmmm, maybe your voter registration card/number should be used to log… Read more »

Re Marcia Mason’s comment:
Possibly Shopify, as had been mentioned previously, were barred from doing business in this country, thereby loosing lots and lots of U.S. Dollars, they might well sing a different tune, one can never tell. As for U.S. based Internet mobs, and their sudden sensivity to firearms, and firearms related ads, I tend to wonder as to how their practices might stand up under rigorous legal examination.

The US laws against discrimination and the first amendment have long been violated in favor of the common good, whatever that is. Remember prohibition? You can’t sell candy cigarettes to children, you can’t advertise smoking products on TV or in print. Too glamorous. Doctors and Lawyers used to not be able to advertise, now they can. Do you see any appeals or resistance by smokers or tobacco companies? No. The baker can still refuse to make wedding cakes for gays, but for how long? Booze ads are still everywhere because Prohibition failed. Cannabis will be next on TV. There may… Read more »

I meant to say the two banks mentioned offered A RIFLE in lieu of interest. They gave out some Weatherby Mark IV, I think.

Yes, it’s true about Shopify, the online sales e-commerce platform. I get the feeling that it’s too: confusing, political, difficult to navigate by state, subject to sudden whim of local governments– not just states, with also a heavy dose of mistrust of FFLs to perform that navigation of laws themselves, for Shopify to believe that their partnership with firearms clients would somehow make them implicit should a legal challenge be presented in the case of a felony misuse of such weapons. As litigious as our society is, it isn’t beyond that realm. I don’t think being Canadian is the defining factor,… Read more »

Yes, Franklin Armory did discuss this incident on Tom Gresham’s show a week ago. Franklin Armory will be looking into filing a violation of freedom of speech / 1st amendment lawsuit regarding this issue.

MAYBE IT’S TIME FOR THE “NRA” TO OPEN IT’S OWN BANK & LET ALL WEAPONS MANUFACTURES MOVE THEIR FUNDS INTO IT. .. I WOULD CANCEL ALL MY CREDIT CARDS AND TAKE THEIRS . BUT, I CAN ALSO SEE WHERE “MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, & VISA” WOULD NOT GIVE THEIR SUPPORT FOR SUCH A VENTURE …

What in the hell is a “Shopify”? Never heard of them!

Shopify is a facilitator of sales for on-line business out of Canada. They have one US office in, wait for it, San Francisco. You can get contact info here:
https://www.shopify.com/contact
If you do any on-line shopping, you are probably using one of their services. They support ~600,000 businesses, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shopify. Many on Amazon and eBay, among other places.

Might our law making royalty have something unpleasant to say to this Canadian mob regarding restraint of trade, activity that is possibly a violation of U.S. law?
