Suicide Prevention, Gun Negligence and Our Responsibilities ~ VIDEO

USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- I want you to listen to this conversation… but, first: A little background on how it came to be recorded.

Less than a dozen episodes of my first podcast were ever published, the last one in 2008. The first series primarily focused on exploring the fundamental principles and concepts underlying my training philosophy.

I started a podcast in 2007 and did about 10 episodes from my desk at the Valhalla Training Center. Then things got even busier and the project faded away, losing out in the squeaky wheel battle to the NRA DVD Series, the birth of PDN, I.C.E. Training Company’s growth, building the #CFSTeam of Instructors, various TV Shows and countless other projects. The episodes were well received and I enjoyed doing them… but, they were lost to iTunes fickleness and 404 Error Codes many years ago.

Having been a guest on countless radio, podcast, video cast and TV Shows over the last couple of decades and I’ve always enjoyed having the time to discuss concepts and principles in long format media. I’ve been wanting to get back into producing my own audio content and leapt at the opportunity to record a conversation with two friends who are spending time thinking and talking about important issues that affect the firearms community,

Mike Sodini and Maj Toure. Mike has been a strong advocate for getting past the sound bites, talking points and 30-second-attention span cliches recently, so it was great to have him involved in the re-launch of my long format media production.

We recorded the conversation about 30 minutes before this picture was taken with the guys who put on “Denver Gun Day”, Issac and Edgar of Firearms Training Central and Guns For Everyone.

The unscripted and unplanned dialogue revolved around the work that both men are doing to educate and raise awareness about responsibility, tragedy prevention, legal gun ownership and the stigma that can accompany gun ownership.

Maj is the founder of Black Guns Matter and Mike recently launched a non-profit organization intended to collaborate with mental health professionals to address a variety of issues.

Knowing that I am maneuvering towards creating a new show, I recorded it in the format of a Radio Program, but it really was just a sampling of the conversations that occurred over the course of 4 days that included some breakthrough meetings for Walk The Talk America.

I think these are important conversations that more people in the firearms community should be having… out loud… in public.

First, I hope you take the time to listen to this conversation and think about the issues we discussed and I hope you share it with others as well.
Secondly, let me know what you think about the format… want to hear more of this type of presentation?

What topics would you be interested hearing discussed or explored more deeply than a Twitter Post or Social Media Video Clip usually allow?

Who should I be talking with?

My husband and i felt really fortunate Ervin could round up his studies using the ideas he had when using the web pages. It’s not at all simplistic just to choose to be giving out solutions which usually the rest could have been selling. We know we’ve got the blog owner to give thanks to because of that. The most important explanations you have made, the easy web site menu, the relationships you will help instill – it’s everything amazing, and it’s making our son and our family do think this content is awesome, and that’s very important. Thank you… Read more »
