Trump’s School Safety Commission Begs States for Red Flag Laws ~ VIDEO

Reporting by Jared J. Yanis

USA –  -( Hello everybody and welcome to Guns & Gadgets, YOUR YouTube source for 2nd Amendment news. With over 20 years of experience in the law enforcement field, I have learned the numerous channels used by those who would love to see our 2nd Amendment rights stripped. Because of this, I am often able to bring you the news on new bills submitted at the local, state and federal levels that look to carry out those attacks. If you are new to the channel or want to stay up to date with the constant infringements on our Constitutional Right to Bear Arms, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel at

Recently, President Donald J. Trump, under immense pressure from the vocal anti-gun community, following the mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, charged the Department of Justice, and subsequently the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to work towards an outright ban of bump stock type devices. The claim is such devices allow a shooter of a semi-automatic firearm to initiate a continuous firing cycle with a single pull of the trigger, thus creating a workaround of the National Firearms Act.

This cause picked up more steam as Chris Cox, the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action’s Executive Director, published a joint statement with Wayne Lapierre, the NRA’s Executive Vice President, that many believe gave the anti-gun community the confidence to continue the push for the ban. This joint statement can be viewed here:

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker announced that the Department of Justice had amended the regulations of the ATF, clarifying that bump stocks now fall within the definition of “machine gun” under federal law.

Immediately, Erich Pratt, the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, announced GOA would file a lawsuit against the ATF and the Department of Justice to seek an injunction protecting gun owners from the arbitrary ban. This announcement can be viewed here:

Upon learning of Gun Owners of America’s plan to stand up to the federal government and file this lawsuit, I reached out to GOA and secured a one-on-one, live interview with Erich Pratt to be held on Guns & Gadgets this Wednesday evening, January 9, 2019, at 6:00 PM, EST.

We will be discussing the bump stock ban lawsuit as well as Republican-sponsored gun control such as the National Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act submitted by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). This bill is a National Red Flag Bill that is genuinely a gun confiscation bill. It not only circumvents Due-Process and violates our 4th Amendment right against unreasonable searches and seizures, 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, as well as our right to confront our accuser, among others, but looks to reward states that enact Red Flag Laws with grants and other funding. President Trump’s own Federal Commission on School Safety released a report recommending states pass Red Flag Laws. They even laid the template out towards fruition. Also, do not forget the President’s quote, “Take the firearms first and then go to court.” You can learn more by watching my video at the top of the page.

So please join us for this LIVE interview with GOA’s Erich Pratt and stay active in the chat because your question might just be the one I ask!

Spread the word because this ban, if left unchallenged, will pave the way for more arbitrary infringements that threaten the 2nd Amendment. I look forward to seeing you on Guns & Gadgets!!

@Oldvet; Good but I want them to go to good homes, I hope, HaHaHa, not to be turned in at some buy back!!!!!!! Used to go to them in hopes of getting some nice pieces before they got inside, locals were also doing it, caught wind of that from police as they were doing it also, not quite above board but a way to try and save some nice pieces from being destroyed!!!!!!!!

willy d

@JPM; No truer words spoken, that would rid all of the paperwork to get POB court orders!!!!!!!

Another ex-wife and lawyers dream come true.

Most law enforcement agencies in the country have laws already allowing people that are “a danger to themselves or others” detained until they can be evaluated WITHOUT firearm seizure. Every law abiding gun owner should be writing to their representatives telling them in no uncertain terms they will not support so called red flag laws.

@Abc: I have written my “representatives”. Their responses were along these lines; I appreciate you writing and sharing your feelings on this subject. I feel I know what is better for you than you do. I will do as I D____ Well PLEASE!

Pete Alves

I made a video on this as well, feel free to use any of my arguments you’d like in this fight. I feel I make a strong case but my presentation is lacking.

I have now finally had my fill, I am going to start getting rid of all of my guns, that way when the ATF comes looking I won’t have any problem, I can just say there all gone, now at that point, they will be able to see that, No Problem, Right???? Also I won’t have to worry about the RED FLAG LAWS either?????? It will be just great to live in peace with no violence, no murders, no name calling, and I hope I can still grow a flower in a flower pot without the government giving me flack… Read more »

Wild Bill

@OV, Yes, the lake spirits need firearms, too!

Remember, peasants, police will never go door-to-door confiscating firearms from people who haven’t hurt anybodyOH. WAIT.

Think about who enforces these “laws” and obeys these “orders”.

Green Mtn. Boy

You overlooked the threat by a member of congress of using Nukes on the American civilian population.

Wild Bill

@GMB, I think the proper response to the threat of WMD against his own countrymen is: ” I believe you!” and don’t ever let anyone forget his words.

One man in Maryland in Montgomery County was SLAIN when the “SS” troops went to his house to CONFISCATE his weapons via a “red flag ‘SO-called’ law”.

George Murphy

They won’t come to the doors of patriots numbering in the millions. About that time, the patriots will be doing the visiting of those who wish gun confiscation. The Henry Bowman’s of our land will be waking up by the millions. It won’t be pretty.

Patrick Sperry

As usual the NRA is pandering again. Kind of like a never ending episode of dialing for dollars. Seems that Trump is in fact living up to the fears that some of us had before he was elected. Still better than HRC, but damn it!

Missouri Born

Acting Attorney General Whitaker has no standing and isn’t qualified to be Attorney General according to the democrats in congress therefore anything he signs or implements as a regulation isn’t valid.
There has to be a court to intervene about his power and office, the dems can’t have it both ways.

He’s a populist, and if he hears enough voices chanting for ERPOs he will want to implement them. And like many others before him he will run his mouth before educating himself on the subject. ERPOs look good on the surface, who wouldn’t want to disarm a potential killer, but it’s like a s**t filled Twinkie. Bite into it and discover the real taste of gov’t overreach and the potential for abuse of our constitutional rights. Having the NRA endorse them doesn’t help either.

I read somewhere that some time in the past that Donald said he was a die hard democrat to the end. I didn’t see him say it on video, so I don’t know for sure. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up.

If this goes unchallenged, all of a sudden every gun owner in America runs the risk of being classified as a danger to someone. (just because they own a gun)

Trump has a bad habit of opening his mouth without thinking things through. This case may not fit that category though because he went on to publish recommendations to states. All this makes you think he considers himself as King Trump rather than President Trump. His walking on the Constitution is totally unjustified. I don’t think lying, cheating, stealing Hiliary could have done this bad. I am thinking that if I want to go out back and shoot the neighbor that lives a mile away doesn’t like to hear gun shots and could turn me in for a red flag… Read more »

I should have proof read my comments before posting.”I am thinking that if I want to go out back and shoot, the neighbor that lives a mile away” forgot the comma after shoot, no I didn’t intend to shoot the neighbor.

Wild Bill

@Tcat, an excellent example of why punctation and grammar are important. I’m stealing it, unless you have copywrited it already!
About that turning in thing, I would keep a careful record of each incident so as to build a case agains further accusations by that neighbor. You know, just for a hobby.

@ Wild Bill honest mistake could get to the wrong eyes and they would want to have a discussion with the person that wrote it. I thought it was funny when I reread it but I know there are those that have no sense of humor.

@ Roy D. I had a lot of faith that Trump would do right by us but that is fading with his tricks on the 2A. I’m not sure if he is getting bad advice or maybe he is a democrat in RINO clothing.

Roy D.

Hey, tomcat, don’t look at me, I voted for Ted Cruz in the primary. I voted against Hillary, not for Trump.

Executive overreach and trampling our Constitution has been establishment for some time now. I don’t know why you think HRC wouldn’t do the same or worse. This case of 2A trampling by Trump is more surprising than it would be for any other president because he was supposed to be the maverick who cares about us and America.
The problem is that the politicians don’t care about principles (Constitution) and they don’t need to run on them because the majority of Americans don’t seem to even understand the need for principle based politics.

Green Mtn. Boy

Trump has proven he cares little for the Constitution so while he’s at at why not completely eviscerate the BOR’s and particularly the fifth amendment.

Wild Bill

@GMB, I’m not so sure that it is that Trump cares little for the Constitution. I think that it is that he knows little of the Constitution. We refused to elect another professional politician, and Trump sure is not a professional politician. I bet that he has not read one paragraph of the Constitution. I am not sure he would understand it if he did, but ignorant, or careless he is still better than any of the options at the time.

Green Mtn. Boy

@ Wild Bill

Agreed, however one would think that someone attaining the presidency might want to have at least a cursory understanding of the governing documents of the country one was elected as president of,I keep hearing that Trump in not stupid however he would appear to be ignorant if not uneducated in civics all together..

I don’t think he is stupid at all Maybe he is stupid like a fox. His biggest problem is that he hires the wrong people to advise him. I don’t know what the outcome will be but maybe just maybe he will bring many new changes in our government. If he doesn’t then we will be in
a socialist country very soon.

Mark R

The only thing that will save this country is a short-term military coup with citizens armed and in the mix. Voting is has not worked at all in spite of a larger turnout in the midterms. If he is stupid-like-a-fox he’d better hurry up and prove it as time is running out quickly. Personally, after all he hasn’t done when he could have, I have lost faith in him. I think he is a democRAT in GOP clothing as of late with his signing into law some of the things he has + not filing an EO to shut down… Read more »

Wild Bill

@GMB, He sees everything through a business lens, but he is good hearted, too. I think that a knowledge of the Constitution and the way that the founders wrote and spoke back then come in a … sickly … fourth, maybe fifth.
Maybe there should be a mandatory class on the Constitution. Someone gets elected, but if they can’t pass the class, they go to Shirley Temple school until they can.

Green Mtn. Boy

@ Wild Bill
“Maybe there should be a mandatory class on the Constitution. Someone
gets elected, but if they can’t pass the class, they go to Shirley
Temple school until they can.”

Every citizen should, that used to be taught in schools before the education process was taken over by the federal government and came under government education centers aka glorified baby sitters.

Most assuredly every one running for public elected office should have to take and pass a civics test in order to be able to run for elected office, right along with term limits to all elected offices

@wildbill: You and I have discussed this off list in the past. Trump is a pragmatist, he will do whatever is necessary in order to achieve his goals. Unfortunately Second Amendment issues are not his goals so he’ll readily throw them under the proverbial bus to get something else he does care about; witness Reciprocity, the Hearing Protection Act, Bump Fire Stocks and upcoming Universal Background Checks as just four. He’ll sell out gun owners in a heartbeat and the NRA will only wimper faint opposition. The real problem is that he’ll get away with it due to his popularity… Read more »

Wild Bill

@Vann, a very dire prediction.

Bill R

Congratulations! Making Massachusetts proud showing the country we’re not all Leftists. Pay attention to this guy, folks! No nonsense breaking info on 2A alerts.

He promised to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. He’s not doing that.

Green Mtn. Boy

@ MrTriggerman

He’s starting to develop quite a list of violations of the Constitution and particularly the BOR.
