Texas – -(AmmoLand.com)- Knife Rights supported HB 446, repealing the ban on the carry of clubs (including tomahawks) and possession of knuckles (including trench knives and the like) has been signed by Texas Governor Abbot. The new law becomes effective on September 1, 2019.

  • In 2013 Knife Rights’ repeal of Texas’ switchblade ban was enacted.
  • In 2015 Knife Rights’ signature Knife Law Preemption was enacted, nullifying all local knife ordinances more restrictive than Texas state law, including two of the “10 Worst Anti-Knife Cities in America” at the time, San Antonio and Corpus Christi.
  • In 2017 our bill removed all of the “illegal knives” in Texas law, finally allowing Texans the right to carry a Bowie knife, dagger and others in public.

NOTE: A Trench Knife with a blade over 5.5-inches will be considered a Location Restricted Knife and is banned from carry at some specific locations.

More gun laws? What did that ever accomplish? How about permanently preventing violent criminals from coming into contact with us? How about disbarring judges who allow violent criminals to continue to ply their trade? We don’t need any more laws. We need leadership and representation by people who love our country.

My response asks why was the government involved in knife ownership in the first place, you have to lay this at the feet of the voters. Pay attention people and vote.

Nunchucks allowed? Concealed Daggers?

Terry Harrison

FYI: The Cold Steel Trench knife shown above is a rubber knife???????

bobinNY

Ok, well it says trainer in the description? So what?

RicksterAR

Terry Harrison , you are full of it. Tap on the icon. It is a Boker trench knife. Look it up before you talk nonsense.

Rubber or steel, don’t give a flying phq. Just an illustration. It’s the return of a legal right that’s important. Don’t let your butt rule your head.

Ironically, the Texas legislature killed a bill allowing constitutional handgun carry, but they pass a bill to allow the carrying of these other weapons. That being the case, I would think the need for a constitutional carry law would be more important and necessary now than ever to counter all these other “legal” weapons.

m.

typical for the blue-p**s water straus-clones

m.

real nice, considering that criminals (even in houston) carry what they like.

maryturcotte7

I couldn’t agree with you more.

Michael Williams

At least the law abiding citizen can legally carry one of these and thwart the “intent” of the criminal. Just sayin’.

Don Bailey

Well put Michael Williams. In addition to your concealed handgun, a small fixed blade can add further defense to protecting yourself and your handgun, if needed. It all comes down to your plan to defend yourself and much you train with your weapons.

GomeznSA

m. – you should have said “especially’ in houston – according to art acevedo (kalypornia transplant) Houston’s police chief -Texas needs more gun laws since there are 20,00 gang bangers in h-town.

Gunner98

And more laws would solve what problems? 20K+ and counting that criminals already ignore – It’s their job.

Chuckbone56

I loved Houston. Grew up there. Now its a cesspool of illegals and legal immigrants that hate America plus lots of ignorant libtards. Left in 1994 for good. What a shame.
