Highly respect Hornady as a company and a family. Company management won’t cave in strictly for $$$ and do business with Walmart (who for the most part is anti 2nd ammendment). It’s great to know that somebody in the business world still has principles, and stands by them.

Tony

I have entered so many gun crap give away and never hear about winners or have won shit either. Is this a barrel of crushed dreams??

Rattlerjake

These giveaways are just a way for them to get thousands of emails so they can bombard you with spam!

USMC0351Grunt

@Rattlesnake, so, then you in fact DID NOT sign up for this FREE GIVE-AWAY?

RoyD

As one of the “winners” I can say that it is a legit deal. My $2400.00 worth of hardware cost me a $50.00 transfer fee at my FFL.

RJ

Just enough for a father daughter day at the range.

Ej harbet

I wish my daughter was like yours! Nonetheless less I love her!
She’s a girly girl

Littlejohn1411

That barrel of gold is beautiful! Good luck to all you freedom lovers out there in ammoland!

USMC0351Grunt

Just step up to the plate to indict, prosecute and remove the unco, stitutional cretins that are violating your constitutional rights and violating their oath of office and their duties so you too can enjoy the rest of the Free Nation.

FreedomFighter

We are going to need all we can get soon enough. Thanks for the opportunity Ammoland news.

Sunnybadger

I’d never buy ammo from anywhere else in my life. What a give away , maybe I’d finally learn how to shoot better. Lmao .

Robert

Can you hear it?

The snowflake screams….

I’M MELTING!!!

Ej harbet

They need to do a youtube video of the winner doing the scrooge mcduck backstroke in a bigger barrel of ammo

Ape

What a wonderful opportunity this is. That much ammo could definitely last an afternoon at the range. Luck tend to not be on my side, like ever, so I don’t expect to win this one either. Regardless, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot. Best of luck everyone!!!

2A

A whole barrel of Freedom!?!? *drools*

Patriot-556

Come to poppa you sweeeeeeet barrel of love… <3 Patriot

Dave in Fairfax

I just got through to Hornady.
The 5.56 NATO 62 gr FMJ Frontier Hornady #FR260B barrel is Military grade ammo and weighs just shy of 400 lbs.
I asked about the Interweb rumors of the Frontier brand ammo blowing up guns.
I was told that Military grade ammo is made cheaper and is dirtier. The result, they think, is that people are shooting bunches of cheap ammo and not cleaning their weapons adequately. They think that this is the reason for the Booms.
I have no dog in this fight, just passing on the info.

USMC0351Grunt

Beyond the safety issue of blowing up your firearm I’m pretty sure that there are warranties on both the ammo and the firearms that you are using.

Dave in Fairfax

USMC0351Grunt, There may well be warranties. OTOH, I like counting to 10 and seeing with both eyes, although that’s getting harder. I’m still waiting to hear about the chamber pressures, etc. They’ve got a bunch of people coming through the shop this week, so I’m not sure when they’ll get back to me. When I know more, so will everybody else.

VAPatriot

As a new owner of an AR a barrel of Hornady would really help to get some solid training done. Thanks to Hornady and Ammoland for this opportunity.

Debo

Imagine the training that is now in the budget with that much ammo on hand.

sailke

This would be awesome! Good luck all!

Felixd

Why aren’t residents of Illinois eligible to win the prize? What are the “additional restrictions” you speak of?

Defendourfreedoms

Because Illinois is a communist state, that is very anti gun.

Shepherd66

Please don’t link the entire state to one county. We don’t like them SOB’s in CROOK county either.

USMC0351Grunt

Pretty sure there’s some kind of a sentence in your state constitution that gives you the power and authority to straighten that out?

Ej harbet

Made communist by Shiraq

Shepherd66

We would have to send them a copy of our FOID card before they can ship it.

Felixd

So then, in the eyes of Ammoland everyone in Illinois is prohibited until proven otherwise. Perhaps Ammoland can ask other companies that ship ammo to Illinois how they do it.

Littlejohn1411

Well today’s the day for the luckiest person in Ammoland! I wonder when they will let us know who this person is. He may know already, maybe they will post the winners name tomorrow?

Littlejohn1411

Luckily In Connecticut ammunition, if you have ONE of the FOUR permits, YES I said FOUR PERMITS! Ammunition can still be bought and shipped here from online stores and other states. Gee, I feel so privileged. I’m sure they are already planning a ban on online ammunition sales. For those that are curious I’ll tell you about what permits are required to purchase ammunition in and out of state. #1 A permit to carry pistols and revolvers allows holder to purchase pistols, rifles, magazines that hold up to ten rounds and ammunition. For Many years the public was lied to… Read more »

Finnky

@Stuck – Ye gads! Sounds marginally better than CA, but still ridiculous. How many other states have such friggin nutty laws? You make me glad to live in a free state where we are “allowed” threaded barrels, suppressors, standard capacity mags, mail order ammo (straight to your door), no waiting period, no purchase or possession limits, no registration, and of course whatever firearms and ammo are legal under federal law (tracers, 50bmg, green tips – whatever). We are not constitutional carry – but having a “mother-may-I-card” it doesn’t bother me much. Besides the card side-steps state background check for firearm… Read more »

Littlejohn1411

We’ve always been allowed to own suppressors, aow’s and full auto, but no select fire, such Diks. Then for the longest time you would have to have the chief in your town sign off on your paperwork, unless you knew someone forget it. Then people started setting up trusts and that pretty much was a middle finger to the chief of police, HA HA. Or you were allowed to go to your closest State Police Barracks, they usually didn’t have a problem with it. I’m not sure if they did away with trust’s but I know they were talking about… Read more »

Jakers

The Brownells plug is perfect: “or maybe you just need two barrels.” On for the bedroom and one for the living room!

retroboy

Now just to find a deal on 463 magazines!

Ej harbet

Yeah I heard some gungrabber in Colorado say they’re only good for 1 use
Let them keep thinking that

Mash44

The biggest problem I see with this giveaway is all the money it’s going to cost me in training and range fees to shoot up all that ammo!

USMC0351Grunt

@Mash44, if that’s a problem I will relieve you of shed in this matter should you be the winner?

Sir_Kickington

In the process of building my first Ar, what better way to complete the build than with some Hornady ammo…GoodLuck everyone!

lars

OHHHH, please let it be me. I’ll never ask Santa for another thing. I promise!

Mo

Awesome prize good luck to everyone!

Ulysses

WIN something? I couldn’t even WIN the Draft Lottery….I had to ENLIST!

Autsin Miller III

Interesting! Ammoland?

tripseven

OK ammoland…the third party you gave my email address to, which violates your privacy policy, continues to spam my email account repeatedly every day!

Are YOU going to address this or do I need an attorney to fix this PRIVACY POLICY VIOLATION?

After attempts to contact you, ammoland, by way of your “contact” link [email protected] (https://www.ammoland.com/contact-ammolandcom/) you have ignored me.

What’s it going to be???

tripseven

After reaching out to USCCA (Website spamming my email) as to how they acquired my email address, they have admitted Ammoland apparently gave them my email address. The following is the reply I received from USCCA verbatim… “Good afternoon, Thank you for contacting the USCCA! I apologize for any inconvenience, but it appears that we acquired your email as a result of actions that you have taken through the Ammoland website to enter a contest being run through the USCCA. As you requested, I have removed your email address from our system. It may take 24-48 hours for this change… Read more »

FaKtor34

That means you have some forgiveness to give to ammo land, they weren’t the one’s running the contest, uscca was and is, they just ran it where it would be highly visible. All the bellyaching to find out you were wrong.

tripseven

That doesn’t mean Ammoland is off the hook from its privacy policy since this giveaway is promoted here.

It’s being looked at and Ammoland is showing a genuine concern working with me. That said, show a little patients as I will reply here with the outcome whether I’m right, wrong or anywhere in between.

einsteinsdaddy

There’s this new thing called a “spam filter”.
using it is a Lot easier than typing all those angry words.

FaKtor34

This is not m855 bullets guys, this is purely Hornady’s 62 grain fmj bullets which if I’m not mistaken is their open tip match bullet, since Hornady and Lake City combined to bring back the Frontier name I have been primarily using these loads and must say they prove to be very accurate in my Colt Precision and also my Mini-14. Having fired close to a thousand rounds of this ammo I have had no FTF or other issues and regularly group in the 1″ range at 100 yds.

Dave in Fairfax

FaKtor34, That would be nice, if correct.
When I look at the picture, comment image and blow it up so I can see the rounds clearly, I don’t see any OTM rounds. Perhaps your eyes are better than mine. When I look at their website and search for 5.56, 62 gr and 13,889 I come up with this; https://www.hornady.com/ammunition/rifle/5.56-nato-62-gr-fmj-frontier-13889#!/ and it doesn’t look like an OTM round. It’s VERY limited distribution and one of them is Brownell’s.

FaKtor34

Dave it may not be the open tip match, but the Cabela’s near my home has several different loads ranging from 55grain to 75 grain and all have proven to be reliable and accurate for me. For cost these loads are hard to beat.

Stimby

Could be a good investment

Rattlerjake

Too bad there isn’t an AR pistol included, it would make the perfect “doomsday” package.

MP

This would be great for stocking up before the coming legislative storm…

Littlejohn1411

Pretty disappointed that the winner hasn’t been announced, unless I happened to miss this information.

Pcruz

What a day it would be to win that beautiful barrel. Certain it will be unforgettable. 🙂

Middle finger mike

Last day show me the barrel

house

WHOA! me and my old army buddies could sure have a ball with all that ammo!

veffy

I can make my kids great shooters with this ammo! Help me out!!!

BeNumb45

Wow! Could make for great Christmas gifts – 100 Rounds for gifts – 13,789 Rounds for me!

Wild Bill

Whomever wins this will be rich, if the SHTF! It would be like having a barrel of gold coins, only better!

Finnky

Gonna sling it on your back when you bug out? Maybe you have a good “bug in” location set up and are going to bury or otherwise conceal your “stash”…
Me – I’d take 500 or so at a time to the range & put holes in stuff until I run out (if ever!).

Constitutional Republic!

Like Gollum with the ring this ammo would become my precious! Lol

AfghanVet11_12

I will melt my upper with my binary colt lower if you pick me. I will send video.

Ryben Flynn

“This is more ammo than most people we know can use in a lifetime,,, scratch that and make that one afternoon.”
Might take me several months. I don’t shoot much to save what little ammo I have for my ARs, maybe a couple thousand rounds, and I’m low on reloading supplies.

Finnky

@RF – me too. Often ~500 rounds in a day, but only sporadically = 0-2 times a year. I need to get out more often – if the AR is fed, I can spend that money on slugs for 3-gun!

Scythian13

I look forward to repairing my driveway up the mountain, after ups grinds their way up with this delivery of happiness.

Hank

What a great giveaway! Perfect caliber and everything. Thank you, Hornaday and Ammoland for doing this. Good luck to everyone!

Pieces

Lots of ammo should be fun at the range good luck everyone

Lakefoot

I’m not a great shot with my .223 (or any of them, tbh) but this might be enough ammo to get to the next level of marksmanship! Goodbye, “Can’t Hit a Barn From the Inside,” hello “Keeping Them All on the Target Without Muzzle Flash Burning the Paper!”

And thank you for the opportunity, Ammoland.

Hiwayman

This would make a be a great birthday gift for me LMAO, but I never get any thing for my birthday any more lol..

Middle finger mike

That give away warms my heart thanks ammoland

Ej harbet

Arf feind wetdream
Enough to trash 2 barrels

Gopher wacker

As said before, “this would be awesome.”

Littlejohn1411

Open up a few & make sure it ain’t gots the wrong powder 😉

The other Jim

Enjoy em Charles. Are you going to count them first to make sure no mistakes were made?

Sisu

Congratulations to Charles S. … Truth be told, I am jealous / envious. I even had drafted my standing explanation as to why I had “so many rounds in my possession”. Yeah, resident of “one of those states”.
