U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- The USCCA announced today that it raised more than $28,000 during its January donation campaign to support communities of faith, following a series of recent attacks in Texas and New York. The donation represents the proceeds raised from the sale of the new book — Keeping Your Church Safe — and will be divided equally between the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, and the Jewish community in New York.

“We’re incredibly thankful for the outpouring of support and generosity from the USCCA community,” said USCCA’s President and Founder Tim Schmidt. “After these tragedies, we were all determined to do something to both help these communities and demonstrate our gratitude for those willing to defend them. We’re here to save lives by empowering America’s responsible protectors. So that’s exactly what we set out to do. On top of this donation, we were able to provide lifesaving education and training to people across the country.”

By combining the donation campaign with the sale of its latest church security training, the USCCA provided nearly 1,400 copies of its new book to help strengthen training and education in communities of faith.

The company also launched a month-long social media campaign to promote the donation effort and raise national awareness around the importance of trained security teams.

“There is simply no question that this kind of training and preparation saves lives,” said Schmidt. “The heroic actions of the trained security team at the West Freeway Church of Christ in Texas stopped an active shooter in just six seconds. They did this through training, vigilance and courage. They stopped evil that day as the defenders of their community. Serving these types of dedicated protectors is exactly why the USCCA exists.”

The USCCA’s donation campaign is part of an ongoing effort to offer free training and educational materials with a specific focus on protecting houses of worship and stopping mass shooters.

The USCCA is the largest and fastest-growing association focused entirely on providing self-defense knowledge, training and legal protection for responsibly armed Americans. Find out more about the USCCA at www.uscca.com.

I’ve been a member almost since the beginning. Now my state, WA, has outlawed the sale of USCCA’s insurance. What a sucky Northern California I reside in.

I don’t like commercial religion, I never have. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t do everything in their power to protect themselves from an armed invader. I see all these churches as being no different than I do any other place of commerce, and feel no differently about it when someone arms up looking to add co-worker to their kill list: stop them however you must. God will sort them out later.
