New Jersey --(Ammoland.com)- On December 21st , gun grabbing elitist Dianne Feinstein held a press conference broadcast on C-SPAN to offer her response to the NRA press conference on the Sandy Hook Massacre.

The press conference was shocking, Feinstein openly and publicly admitted that the basis for her new, confiscatory gun banning proposal amounted to looking through a stack of magazines or fine books like the The Illustrated World Encyclopedia of Guns, as opposed to anything approximating actual , fact based research. Fortunately for Feinstein, books and magazines have lots of pictures, as apparently big words like those that are used in drafting new laws or reading and correctly interpreting existing ones are to much for her to grasp.

Unbelievably , this isn’t the first time Feinstein and her acolytes have based Federal Law on nothing more then scary images.

Its long been a known fact that supporters of banning so called “assault weapons” base their conclusions on nothing more then what looks “scary” to them. It eventually became known that the 94 to 2004 Federal “Assault Weapons” Ban was arrived at by literally looking at pictures of guns and choosing the scariest looking ones for inclusion in the law.

Now Feinstein is using the same absurd “standard“, if one could even call it that, and taking it several steps further.

She even claimed during her remarks that people could “buy devices that would allow them to legally change semi-automatic firearms to fully automatic machine guns”.

This is a laughable and provably false statement. Under current Federal Law, even mere possession of just the PARTS required to make a “machine gun” without an ATF issued manufacturers license or, in the case of private collectors, having passed an intensive, multi level background check, including at the Federal Level and registering those parts with the ATF and paying a tax fee is an automatic Federal Felony carrying a minimum mandatory 10 yr sentence in Federal Prison.

This process and the regulations and penalties are spelled out quite clearly in the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the applicable administrative regulations that accompany it. The very same law that Feinstein herself plans to apply to all semiautomatic firearms with her new proposal!

Feinsteins public statements are the epitome of the moronically inept and embarrassingly stupid mindset and beliefs of far to many so called “leaders” in Congress. It seems the inmates truly are running the asylum in DC. People in California must be so proud that someone as hopelessly stupid as Feinstein is who represents them in Congress. But its the rest of the Country that pays the price for it.

If we are now reduced to such a debasing posture that our elected officials are basing public policy decisions on the pictures in magazines, We the People would be far better off to have the Republic fall apart and start over then risk another day of being infected with and subjected to the ideas of Feinstein and her ilk.

Really who the hell are the people running this once great country?! Picture books what are we children? You are a dumb b**ch! I have an idea lets get a picture book of all the politicians and pick the ones we don’t like based on looks. F***in retards!

I agree that Sen. Feinstein is an asinine hypocrite and a gun-grabbing leftist.

For the record, I think that when she says, “buy devices that would allow them to legally change semi-automatic firearms to fully automatic machine guns” she is referring to the Slide Fire stock, which effectively allows a shooter to bump fire in a more controlled and deliberate fashion.

Her blinding bias and inexcusable ignorance of the definitions of “semi- automatic,” “fully automatic” and “machine guns” is the root of her confusing and clumsy statements.

    3. The purpose of the Second Amendment is to arm people in order to prevent future tyranny. They need the tools to do this.

The term “Well Regulated” in the Second Amendment meant “Well Manned and Equipped ” in 1791 as was determined in the 1939 United States v. Miller case after referencing the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. The concept of Government Regulation, as we understand it today, did not exist at the time.

United States v. Miller also determined that the term “Arms” refers to “Ordinary Military Weapons” (not crew operated). American Citizens have the right to Keep and Bear, which means Own and Carry, any weapons that a soldier carries into battle. That includes past, present and future weapons. A Militia consisted of armed volunteers willing to fight with their personal arms and not under government control.

To limit the Second Amendment to muskets would be the equivalent of limiting the First Amendment to writings in quill pens.

Liberty is worth the risk of death!

    4. i will refuse to comply, i am swearing an oath as a civilian to protect our constitution. MOLON LABE! the stand of the 300 million!

might as well just go get black market full auto machine guns at this point.

    5. If you don’t already have one, develop a really good memory now, and vote these traitors, anyone that supports Feinstein, out of office at the next election.

    6. Please people! You sound like this has anything to do with “assault weapons”. This is another attempt to turn us into Britain. Be it Gay Rights, Islamic Rights or Gun Control Britain is the exemplar for the far left to pattern. They are taking the tragic death of 20 small children to use the natural emotional shock to get another useless (in that it won’t save lives) gun ban passed. If you look at her “proposal” it essentially bans all semi auto firearms. Next will be scoped rifles. Don’t they look and function just like sniper rifles. You’ve been seeing them bortrayed as evil for years!

    7. I have wrote my congressman, been a member of NRA I just want to do more to stop this gun grabbin madness. I am so sick of the libral ass politicains

The last time an M1 carbine (image at top) was used at any newsworthy event was in 1966-Charles Whitman-Texas tower shootings of innocents. Prior to that Bugsy Seigel, the mobster, was assassinated around 1938 at close range mostly head shots. Leave the M1 carbines alone Swineslime!!! This fine piece has a proud history dating from WWII, the Korean War, and through Viet Nam.

Actually, Wes, that rifle is an M-14/M1A that fires the 76.2/51 .308 Winchester round that was that was certified in 1955

    11. Scary pictures? Feinstein must be banned! That is one scary looking woman.
      Just sayin!

Really Feinstein? Scary pictures? Ban War! Have you watched the “Sands of IwoJima”?

Here is something you should be scared of, try to come into my home without permission.

    12. Wes, That’s not an M1 Carbine…that’s an M14. It fires a larger round, is significantly larger and heavier and would be termed a main battle rifle as opposed to the Carbine designation of the M1.

The M14 was a beautiful, accurate weapon, capable of and often used in a sniper role. The M1 Carbine, on the other hand, was designed to give its user protection from an enemy who was just out of pistol range out to maybe 200 yards at most.

    13. This is not the way to solve this issue!! Protect out second amendment. .

    17. Micah, a slidefire does not make a firearm fully auto, if you inspect the mechanics it is still an individual trigger pull for each round fired. Bump fire is not full auto.
