Oklahoma – -(Ammoland.com)- The following bills passed out of Oklahoma committee over the last week:

  • HJR1009 passed the House Rules Committee on Wednesday by a vote of 9 to 1.  HJR1009 is OK2A’s proposed amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution.  The one nay vote was cast by Rep. Shoemake, who had voted for the measure during the last legislative session.  We are not sure why he flipped his vote, but we do know that Higher Ed is lobbying very hard against this bill.  As it moves forward we will need calls and emails made.  We will let you know when to contact your legislators about this bill.  The House author of HJR1009 is Rep. Fisher.
  • HB1460 passed the House Public Safety Committee on Thursday by a vote of 8 to 1.  1460 will add knives to the state firearms preemption law and allows schools to set their own policies concerning the carrying of knives.  The one nay was cast by Rep.
