Long Island’s Second Amendment Rights Organization Gets Nominated, Best Of Long Island

Ronkonkoma, NY –-(Ammoland.com)- Long Island Firearms, New York's foremost online firearms enthusiast community has been nominated for the Best of Long Island.

A local website is making strides for the NRA and the Second Amendment on traditionally gun-unfriendly Long Island, New York. The website, Long Island Firearms has been nominated to the “Long Island’s Best” ballot list in the ‘best website’ category.

The survey, sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, is a popular Long Island publication that ranks popular local businesses and services. Long Island Firearms, the flagship website, and the Long Island Second Amendment Preservation Association had already been making waves in the New York area by assisting in the ongoing Westchester Case (Kachalsky V. Cacace), and now they have the chance to hit the New York area headlines again.

For the Firearms Community on Long Island, nomination to the list represents the ever increasing support for firearms rights in an area where firearms might have been considered taboo for such a widely publicized list just a few years ago. Needless to say, a number one spot win would be a benchmark for freedom and local firearms rights awareness.

    1. NY needs to become 2A friendly for all legal law abiding American citizens. Its time we the people of NY start become a shall issue state so that the criminals are not the only ones armed!
Removing firearms from the world will not remove the criminal element from the world; it will only make them stronger. The weak will now become the sheep and are controlled by the evil criminal thugs. The civilized American people want to just live and let live. The criminal evil thug can care less what you want. Thank God we in America have the right to have a personal perfection tool AKA as a firearm. The Police are NOT for your protection. The Police are to enforce the constitute laws by the States and Federal Government. In 1856, the U.S. Supreme Court (South v. Maryland) found that law enforcement officers had no duty to protect any individual. Their duty is to enforce the law in general. More recently, in 1982 (Bowers v. DeVito), the Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit held, “…there is no Constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen. It is monstrous if the state fails to protect its residents… but it does not violate… the Constitution.” Later court decisions concurred: the police have no duty to protect you. The police are for enforcing the laws, not for your personal protection. We the people are responsible for our own protection. So how does disarming me, make me and my family any safer?
