Milwaukee –-( Advanced Technology International (ATI), the leading manufacturer in gun stocks and firearm accessories, is now shipping the ATI Halo Side Saddle System for the Mossberg 500 and 590 platforms.

ATI’s Halo Side Saddle with unique Add-A-Shell customization options was one of the Wisconsin company’s most eagerly awaited products coming out of its debut at SHOT Show in January. Initial feedback on the Halo Side Saddle has come back positive, and thus creating strong demand to adapt this revolutionary product to other platforms.

According to the company, mounting and installation of the Halo Side Saddle has been a strong selling point, as no gunsmithing is needed.  The Side Saddle installs simply by using the existing tapped holes on the top of the receiver. The firearms industry has seen a push towards consumer installed modifications in recent years and this is another product that looks to fall in line with that trend.

The Halo’s top-mounting system is preferred to the more common pinhole installed shell carriers because it reduces stress on the pinholes that hold the trigger assembly in the receiver.  Tension on this area of the receiver has been known to damage shotguns with extended use.

Another benefit of the Halo’s Side Saddle’s top-mount design over other shell holders is a simpler takedown and cleaning process.
