Rock Island, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- The 2015 September Premiere Firearms Auction proved, once again, to be a top destination for collectors and investors of firearms, edged weapons, and militaria.

Some flew in from across the country while others drove hours for a chance to bid on high condition, rare, historic, and even one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime firearms. With so many incredible pieces crossing the auction block, the excitement continued throughout the weekend and after three days resulted in the incredible realized total of Over $13.6 Million!

All we can say is, “Thank you!” Thank you for trusting Rock Island Auction Company with your incredible firearms and as a trusted partner to help build your collections. Thank you for making the huge efforts to travel to our location. Thank you for your participation whether it was via phone, our website, in person, or even a simple fax. We hope that your experience and the guns will keep you all coming back for many more. Here are a few of the highlights from this past weekend.

  • Lot 1120: A historic Revolutionary War Brown Bess flintlock musket with its mountain of research and an original diary tantalized collectors and historians alike and sold for $126,500!
  • Lot 303: Roy Rogers’ Colt Single Action Army, engraved and gold plated by Cole Agee and wearing pearl grips, rode off into the sunset to a new home for $57,500. Happy trails indeed!
  • Lot 1807: President John F. Kennedy’s M1 Garand received worldwide attention prior to auction and it was reflected in the bids it received. One fortunate collector left with the historic battle rifle for $149,500!
  • Lot 1621: An über-rare German FG-42 paratrooper rifle made by Krieghoff proved that the sale price of one offered last September was no random spike. It sold even higher and rang the bell at $322,000!
