Berryville, AR -(AmmoLand.com)- Wilson Combat is proud to announce that our Shooting Team member B.J. Norris won the Iron Sight Division and attained a new National Record time at the Steel Challenge Nationals in Florida!
He also placed 2nd in the Open Division the next day. Congratulations B.J.!
“After finishing up the 3GN match on Thursday night (and placing third), I took an early flight Friday morning down to FL for the Steel Challenge Nationals to compete in the iron sight and open divisions. Unfortunately, this schedule didn’t allow me to compete in the rimfire division and join the race for the SteelMaster title. The iron sight division came first on Saturday. I worked hard to remain calm and watch the sights all day long, as I’ve dedicated most of my practice time to the open division. At the end of the day, I ended up with a new personal best time, and National Record time of 83.98, beating the previous record of 90.19 by 6.21. The second place finisher in the iron sight division was KC Eusebio with a time of 89.13. After that I prepared for the Open Division the next day.”– B.J. Norris.
“Sunday was a hard fought battle between Max Michel, KC and myself for the title. There was a lot of back and forth and we all shot well for the majority of the day. When the dust settled, KC took the title with a time of 77.08, I was second place at 77.43 and Max Michel was third place at 79.73 seconds. Given limited my practice time due to weather, and splitting my attention between 3 Gun and Steel Challenge, I am extremely pleased with these results, and am really looking forward to the World Championship in August when I will be able to dedicate even more time to Steel Challenge training.”– B.J.
