Washington, DC -(Ammoland.com)- There is great news in the gun rights community today.

The New Hampshire Governor signed a GOA-backed permitless carry bill into law today, allowing the Granite State to become the 13th member of the Constitutional Carry Club.

Gun Owners of America will provide you more information on this, and other recent gun-related victories, later in the week.

Moving to the Congress, there are efforts underway to prevent the UN from continuing its crusade to destroy the Second Amendment.

As you know, a good percent of UN member nations consist of genocidal totalitarian regimes. And they certainly don’t want anyone other than government butchers to have access to firearms.

Just within the last eight years, the UN has tried to saddle us with the anti-gun Small Arms Treaty and the anti-gun Arms Trade Treaty — or ATT.

The ATT, in particular, would REQUIRE the U.S. to establish a national firearms registry.

In addition, it would authorize an anti-gun president to implement massive gun and ammo bans by executive fiat.

Thus, under the ATT, if a Democrat were to ever again seize control of the White House, he could use executive orders to illegally ban all handguns or all semi-autos or all AR-15 ammo.

Suffice it to say that it’s well past time that we cut off the spigot on the anti-gun crazies in the UN.

H.R. 249, introduced on January 4 by Congressman Brian Babin (R-TX), would do just that.

The provisions of H.R. 249 are simple: The bill would prohibit U.S. funds from going to voluntary contributions to the UN or any UN agency.

If passed, we would punish the United Nations, and deservedly so, for trying to strap the U.S. with restrictive gun controls — and for enabling a lawless president to someday implement (illegally) anti-gun treaties like the ATT by executive fiat.

Gun Owners of America has supported legislation in the past to remove the U.S. from the United Nations. While H.R. 249 doesn’t go that far, it’s a good first step.

So, for those of you who have fought beside us against the ATT since 2012, now is the time to put a stake through the heart of this anti-gun vampire.

Hopefully, H.R. 249 would also cut off its head, shoot it with a silver bullet, and bury it in a lead coffin with a crucifix and a string of garlic around its neck.

Please urge Representatives to cosponsor H.R. 249 — legislation to cut funds to the anti-gun United Nations.

Sincerely,

Tim Macy
Chairman

The many tyrants that the UN consists of have no understanding of what America is or stands for. They can not conceive of a government that allows it citizens to have easy access to firearms. Should we allow these ignorant state leaders to dictate what the United States should undertake or should not undertake? I think not boys and girls. Our elected officials know or hopefully know what would happen to them if they ever tried to implement a UN regulation to disarm US citizens by executive fiat e. Having said that I see more and more stupid elected members… Read more »

My god, you guys are completely nuts. What do you want? Do you want to leave in a wild wild west?

Christopher Eller

We don’t want to leave anywhere.

We want to live in a free society that respects freedom, and allows the innocent to defend themselves from the non-innocent.

I cannot understand how The lost Left believes criminals deserve, and should have, more rights than the innocent, law-abiding citizens whom criminals rob, rape and murder. That’s a “wild, wild west” nobody deserves to suffer.

And while the Lost Left screams that Trump denying access to some media myth makers is the first step Hitler did, I remind you that the first things Hitler did were national health care, rioting, and gun control.

Larry Brickey

Some on the so called left own guns and believe in the 2A. They’re being outshouted by others.

Wild Bill

@Larry B, Perhaps the gun owners that you envision would be more comfortable in a different party.

Larry Brickley, the UN is full of genocidal terrorist regimes that don’t pay their fare share to support the organization and vote against any positive actions we try to implement. There is no hope for the twisted barrel gun or the diplomatic immunity the sleezebags bring to our soil. WE would be money ahead to dump this outdated rag of an organization.

Larry Brickey

Then it needs replacing. We need an international forum of some sort. Not having such has really helped, hasn’t it?

SeaRick

Larry, As a WA state resident, I share your concern about the bills in Socialympia. I don’t mind the gun lock bill if it will stop some of the accidental shootings of children and I think gun owners should keep their firearms secure if there are children but I do object to annual licensing of semi-auto long guns. We are fortunate that our state constitution precludes any govt but state govt from implementing any laws more restrictive than state law but with such a libertird legislature filled with socialist nanny tax & spend Dimocraps, you are right in that we… Read more »

Washington State gun owners are losing ground. As for the UN, I favor continued membership. Any treaty, such as ATT, must be approved by the Senate. Just vote it down.

It’s too bad GOA lost site of the forest for the trees here in BLUE state Colorado, when we had the chance to get rid of the absurd magazine capacity ban–GOA failed us. Here’s an example of the right way to do things (emphasis added where pertinent). This was noted in another article: “It is important to note, that if you choose to carry a loaded pistol or revolver on a snowmobile or ATV, a license is still required pursuant to RSA 215 A-20 and RSA 215 C-35 . These statutes appear in the fish and game laws. We would… Read more »
