BarnettTARPON SPRINGS, FL-(Ammoland.com)- For 55 years, hunters have turned to Barnett for the very best in durability, dependability and performance. Why? Because excellence has never been considered optional by the brand that pioneered the modern crossbow.

For 2017, Barnett announces the release of its upgraded Whitetail Hunter Series of compound crossbows – three new high performance models designed and built in the USA to do more and do it better than anything else out there at an affordable, mid-level price. Featuring fast-handling lightweight stocks, custom composite laminated limbs and compact overall dimensions, Barnett’s fast and nimble Whitetail Hunter Pro, Whitetail Hunter II and Lady Whitetail Hunter will equip any hunter for success, no matter what or where they’re hunting.

Each of these three new Whitetail Hunter models features Barnett’s all-new TriggerTech trigger system – the smoothest, crispest and safest available on any crossbow. Frictionless Release Technology employs a unique, free-floating roller between the trigger and sear, instilling confidence and boosting accuracy through an incredibly smooth and light three-pound trigger pull with zero creep. Additionally, nock sensors and ADF (anti-dry fire) keep a spring-loaded safety bar in place until the arrow is properly seated, protecting the user and the bow from accidental dry fire.

Other unique performance features shared by the new Whitetail Hunter models include Barnett’s self-adjusting Soft-Lok Floating Bristle Arrow Retainer, anti-vibration foot stirrup, 7/8” Picatinny rail and 4×32 mm multi-reticle scope. Each Whitetail Hunter model comes complete and ready to hunt with Headhunter arrows, quiver and lubrication wax. Best of all, the simple installation of a single bolt is all that’s required to take these high performance hunting tools from the box to the field.

A feathery overall weight of 6.4 pounds, impressive speed of 350 feet per second and a manageable 150-pound draw weight make the Whitetail Hunter II an ideal bow for crossbow hunters of all skill levels and sizes – especially those with smaller frames. Fast and effective target acquisition comes courtesy of an included 4x32mm multi-reticle scope, while a magnesium riser and pass-through foregrip with finger safety reminders make the Whitetail Hunter II a dream to shoulder and easy to steady. Versatile Realtree Xtra camo contributes to effective concealment on any hunt, regardless of the season or conditions.

Barnett Whitetail Hunter Pro

Filling the need for a compact, high performance compound crossbow for full-framed shooters, Barnett’s all-new Whitetail Hunter Pro features a Compact Pro Stock that’s a full one-inch longer than that of the Whitetail Hunter II, while retaining an incredibly narrow 16.125” width from axle to axle. The result is a lightweight, compact, highly maneuverable hunting bow that feels exceedingly comfortable and solid on the shoulder of full-sized shooters. Despite the slight increase in overall length, the Whitetail Hunter Pro’s weight is maintained at just 6.4 pounds, due, in part, to a CNC-machined aluminum flight track.

The new Whitetail Hunter Pro also enjoys upgraded performance. A modest increase in draw weight to 160 pounds combined with a modified cam design boosts kinetic energy to 122 foot-pounds and speed to 380 feet per second. The Whitetail Hunter Pro also employs string dampeners to greatly attenuate vibration and sound.

A bow that feels and performs as good as the new Whitetail Hunter Pro deserves a finish to match. Barnett’s proprietary TRUBark HD camo covers almost every element of the Whitetail Hunter Pro – from the stock to the limbs and even the riser – delivering versatile concealment and standout looks that can’t be found on any other crossbow.
