USA -( Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) announces the introduction of the SR1911 in 10mm Auto.

Hog hunters and aficionados of major power-factor cartridges will be glad to learn that Ruger’s growing family of SR1911s will now include this full-size, stainless steel model.

The new SR1911 in 10mm Auto features the same Bomar-style adjustable sights as the SR1911 Target model. It also has a tight-fitting, bushingless bull barrel – a first for Ruger.

The ramped barrel is black nitride coated to reduce the wear associated with hard-hitting 10mm Auto ammunition.

Another first for Ruger, this model also utilizes a full-length steel guide rod for the recoil spring. The SR1911 in 10mm Auto has rubberized grip panels for extra control and comfort.

Ruger is already well known for producing some of the best quality 1911s on the market today. Ruger’s American-made, CNC-machined SR1911 comes fully equipped with upgraded features like Ruger’s classic Series 70 design, a lowered and flared ejection port, titanium firing pin and a precision-machined bull barrel.

The SR1911 features an integral plunger tube, beaver-tail grip safety, extended magazine release, oversize thumb safety, skeletonized hammer and skeletonized aluminum trigger for fast, accurate shooting.

I’m in if they do a Talo night watchman version.
I’m not a fan of stainless autos. Love my night watchman in .45. Needs a matching 10mm. 😛

Picked mine up yesterday from my LGS. Haven’t had chance to shoot it yet, but I will say that I am very impressed with the overall look and feel. I have been wanting a 1911 chambered in 10mm for a while but just could not justify to myself shelling out $1000+ on a quality Colt, Sig, or Kimber. When I saw the announcement from Ruger last week, I knew this was the one and I ordered it. In my opinion, Ruger scored big by not announcing the release of this pistol until they already had some tested, produced, and already… Read more »

BTW, the MSRP is $1099, but I got mine for $774 OTD.

Thats Kick Ass!! I love the big 10mm and still find it hard to believe its not more popular than it is. Yes its enjoyibg a small resurgence lately but its still the Rodney Dangerfield of handgun cartridges and thats just sad. I however will continue enjoying the 10mm.
