Flake Stance on Immigration Undoes His ‘Good’ Gun Votes

By David Codrea

Kelli Ward understands something Jeff Flake does not, particularly as it applies to the changing voter demographic he is enabling. (Dr. Kelli Ward: Facebook photo)

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- “[Jeff] Flake favors immigration and free trade — stances that put him at philosophical odds not only with the president but also with many Arizonans,” a seemingly sympathetic Senate race analysis in The New York Times noted Sunday. “In 2013, he was part of the bipartisan ‘Gang of Eight’ group of senators who put forth an immigration overhaul that would have offered immigrants in the country illegally a path to citizenship.”

Flake also “declined to support Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton,” meaning if left to him, she would be the one appointing new federal judges and Supreme Court Justices

Last time out, Flake was “A-rated” and endorsed by NRA. And while making political hay over all kinds of ancillary issues, the gun group refuses to address bringing foreign nationals into the country and making them part of the electorate as an issue for gun owner concern.

It should be. All credible polls show such populations favor gun restrictions by an overwhelming (71% to 25%) margin, and this is proven in the real world by the California experience. Further, after over 20 years the needle barely moves to the right, so the “assimilation” argument has had decades to work and hasn’t, despite “welcoming” moves up to and including so-called “sanctuary cities.”

Here’s a challenge for anyone who wants to tell us otherwise:

Audit all credible polls against real-world experience in places like California and then produce credible data – not opinion, not anecdotes, not isolated examples, but something that can be independently validated – demonstrating that “amnesty” and a “pathway to citizenship” for MILLIONS of foreign nationals in this country illegally (and legally, with CURRENT culturally suicidal policies) WILL NOT overwhelmingly favor Democrats and anti-gunners.  Show your sources and methodologies for determining this WILL NOT result in supermajorities in state and federal legislatures that will then be able to pass all kinds of anti-gun edicts. Show how this WILL NOT result in nominations and confirmations of judges to the Supreme and federal courts who will uphold those edicts and reverse gains made to date.

This is not (contrary to what those behind the cultural terraforming to advance a political agenda would have you believe) “xenophobic” or worse.  They do that to make people afraid to be called “racists” if they even bring it up. What they won't tell you is, immigration law protecting the national identity and interests is basically the same policy enacted and administered by the government of Mexico.

Still, if you need something “pure gun” to make up your mind, consider Flake is looking for ways to throw bump stock owners under the bus, and also championed “No Fly/No Buy,” a bill Gun Laws author Alan Korwin appropriately called “a 17-page tyrannical travesty.”

There is an alternative — and has been since before Donald Trump tried to make nice with establishment Republicans who want to oust him as badly as Democrats do. That doesn't work.  Let's hope he doesn't make the same tactical error again.

This time out, President Trump had encouraging things to say about Republican challenger Dr. Kelli Ward (although he has still not yet formally endorsed her) while dismissing Flake as “toxic”:

President Trump had encouraging things to say about Republican challenger Dr. Kelli Ward
President Trump had encouraging things to say about Republican challenger Dr. Kelli Ward

Ward is great on guns and great on immigration.

And that means enemies of “draining the swamp” are out there smearing her and disparaging her chances of being able to win the general election.  No doubt a Democrat apparatchik pro-“immigrant”/anti-gun “journalist” who dismisses such Republicans as “kooks” and favors an apology to George Soros (while leaving his actual collaboration with Nazis unmentioned) has conservatives’ best interests at heart?

I mean, if we can't trust “progressives” to give it to us straight political advice, who can we trust? After all, we're talking about someone who 18 days before last November’s election speculated that Hillary might not just win the country, but also Arizona. Thanks to “Latino voters.”

Oh, but Kelli Ward believes in chemtrail conspiracies those with no argument left will throw out, hoping it will be a knockout punch. If anybody brings that up to you as a reason to oppose her, slap them down with the truth, coming from, in this case of all places, The Washington Post. And don't allow them to hijack the discussion from the demonstrable dangers Flake poses.

It’s past time for gun owners to reject the establishment Republican Kool Aid and insist on principle. If you’re worried a lesser-known name might lose to a Democrat, instead of once again rolling over in frustration for “the lesser of two evils” — which is what got us into this mess — why not make the principled choice and then do something to help keep that from happening?

    1. So, those white, sticky filaments that drifted out of the sky which clumped up on my car and ATE HOLES IN THE PAINT on two separate occasions in two different states were just a conspiracy theory? That sets my mind at ease. But I don’t think my insurance company is going to pay out on a new paint job if I tell them that.

    2. We should all be supporting kelli ward in some way. Follow and retweet her on social media, make posts about her on forums and websites, contribute to her if possible, etc. The only thing that stops gun control from being supported by politicians is the fear of losing their job over supporting it. The same thought must be applied to all republicans who support amnesty and mass immigration since thr latter will eventually result in gun control anyway.

Codrea has been great about this for as long as I have read his work – which is going back at least to 2011. But many on the pro gun side of things, including the nra, dont seem to understand how the two are linked.

    3. i DON’T understand WHY? the people of Arizona RE-ELECTED THAT DAMN JOHN TRAITOR MCCAIN AGAIN.
and i HOPE this Lady WINS.

      1. Because when the primaries were decided, the alternative was Democrat Anne Kirkpatrick.

McCain controls the state GOP with an iron fist, and the primaries run the way he wants them to run. We can’t be rid of him soon enough.

        1. @Henry, My condolences. It is a shame that it takes thirty years and brain cancer to get rid of a corrupt politician. But if he really has brain cancer, your state has to make sure that someone else does not get a hold on your state GOP in the same way. Good luck and remember… Hillary is not president!

      2. McCain should have been tried in a military court and punished as a traitor during the Vietnam war … and so should Hanoi Jane Fonda. The penalty for treason can and should be death under the UCMJ. He is still a traitor, IMHO, and should never have been allowed to become a millionaire that helps decide any law for Americans.

    4. Most of them seem to bend at some point or another. It must be that their pocket is too full and causing them to bend? There is so much graft in the swamp it will take decades to clean it up.

    5. Primaries! Primaries! Primaries! Register as a republican and vote for/support real constitutional conservatives. We must do this now or there will be blood spilt. Voting in the primary elections sound easier than having a revolution to me.

      1. @CB, I can not agree more! The next battle will be the primaries. If we can not weed out the party hacks, and send the not corrupted yet candidates to the general elections, then We the People’s win in the last presidential election will be negated. We must send more uncorrupted candidates to DC to help Trump.

    6. Kelli Ward has been a regular at the Phoenix gun shows speaking to people. I have never seen a McCain or Flake there. I did see a McCain rep taking notes while she was speaking though. . . .

      1. That is the “gun show loophole” they want to close. The gun show is the forum where we can meet and create legislative action.

    7. The NRA is a SINGLE ISSUE organization………….GUN RIGHTS……….they typically support ‘incumbents’; the ‘known quantity’………Flake is a RINO and if the folks of AZ can’t figure that out without the NRA’s help or endorsement….we are in trouble…..the ‘Gang of 8’ amnesty bill should be enuf to vote the SOB out….AZ failed the country by reelecting McCain, don’t do it again with ‘Flake’.

      1. True, but David’s point in this article IS critical, and he rightly blasts NRA for refusing to address it.

Don’t forget WHO it is puts elected representatives in office…. individual voters. How great would it be were I to come up wiht some “magic wand” potion to distribute widely (perhaps by chemtrails?) that would magically cause millons of voters to suddenly rise up and ONLY elect decidedy pro gun and gun rights politicians all accross the land? Would not NRA come out in favour of that? But we have the exact opposite happening in real life. Yet NRA stand there looking at the gound, silent as a gravestone.
How close was the last election for president? Take the margin in numbers of votes ny which the Clinton She Unit lost….. now add 70% of the number of known/probable illegal foreign invaders to her tally. What was a signficant loss would now become a landslide win.

No. Just plain ol fashioned NO.

And that is considering the gun rights issue as an isolated conesquence of open borders. Now, take in the way so many of certain demographic categories are responsible for so much death and destruction amongst us….. and decide whether we’d be wise or insane to demand forty millions MORE of them amongst us… with NO vetting or background study.

    8. Somebody needs to add a sign under that “No guns OR ammo in Mexico” sign. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Officially Mexico is a “gun free zone” and only the government legally has guns. Of course the vacuum is filled by the cartels that rival the government in power since they don’t even have a weak constitution to restrain their violence against the people.

    9. Even the influential Arizona Mormon ranchers who financed their brother into office are having second thoughts about their choice. It is incredible that my fellow conservative Zonies could have TWO covert Socialists in the US Senate: John McCain (aka Juan McRino) and Jeff Flake! With God’s help and guidance, we will be of at least one by November.

    10. I know someone who said they voted for Obama because they didn’t want to appear to be racist. The American voter has given up their ability to think straight in favor of their feelings. They are more worried about their image than the truth. We really are easily manipulated.

      1. @Bud, You are correct. Americans used to be world renown for their moxy. Now, they can’t think at all. They go by feelings. What happened? Higher education happened. Hollywood’s “go by your feelings” happened. The “if it feels good…do it” hippy logic happened. “Its my body”, “victimless crime”, Mother Jones’ social justice/social justice and the constant drum beat of at the socialist utopia, all happened.

        1. Wild Bill wrote: ““Its my body”, “victimless crime”,”
I say: You want to abuse your body by using illegal drugs or legal drugs for your addiction, YOU OVERDOSE, YOU DIE! I WILL NOT SAVE YOU!!!

      2. this guy is a REAL dimwit. There is only one way anyone else could find out how he voted to even use that as a basis for a racist charge. The simple solution for him, which he did NOT use, is vote, then shut up.

    11. People need to understand that establishment Republicans are always pandering and mouthing slogans to get re-elected, but once they do, then they are only concerned with the lining of their own wallets with tax payer (translated that means yours and mine) hard earned dollars, and what keeps them in good standing with the GOBC (good old boys club) there on Capitol Hill in DC. These are the one’s who won’t work with Trump on his MAGA agenda and are always pissing us off when they are playing surrender monkey to the Democrats. We conservatives have the power now, but if they keep hosing around we won’t have it for long. Plus the Dems are still trying and hoping to be able to impeach Donald Trump, because they still can’t believe they lost the election with the Hag candidate they espoused.

Time to get rid of the establishment stiffs and put in some principled Conservatives who will represent OUR values and be OUR voice. We have to defeat the RINO’s and Establishment pukes at the primaries and then get our people into the seat in November.
