About fifteen years ago my oldest son attained IDPA SSP Master using a Ruger KP95DC. At that time he was the first person known to have reached that level using a Ruger. We were also shooting USPSA at the time and at one USPSA match he borrowed a friend’s G-17 and shot the stage he had just shot with his KP95DC and he took 30% off his previous time. I was also using a KP95DC at that time and we both switched over to Glock guns and never looked back.

this is a great idea and will certainly help to make ruger a firearm to aspire to ……….. how about a government

contract ? American products are past due in military holsters !

Doug and Randi are still elite and will win matches immediately. I imagine they are a part of why Tiger came out with a full line of 9mm 1911s. What I don’t know is which high cap Tiger pistols this team will use. The current SR and American series really don’t have any competing models.

I expect to see Randi focus on SASS again since that’s an area where the Vaqueros are used by many of that sports top shooters.

Ruger needs to show that their firearms can be competitive at first. I always hear shooters looking at what the “top shooters” are using, and pretty much anything else is shown little respect. Ruger has to get shooters to see their firearms in the hands of shooting “names” and being competitive, then when the grassroots shooters will start using their products.

Chris

Because I wake up every morning and say to myself, “What this sport needs is another pro team.”

Ruger makes guns that should be competitive in multiple disciplines. Putting them in the hands of professionals of this caliber should help sell products and improve the brand. I am looking forward to seeing these shooters in action with Ruger products. Should be interesting.

Id like to see what gear Ruger is going to make them use. What do they have to shoot to be on the Ruger team? Other than SASS, I have not seen Ruger guns at any matches.

Wild Bill

Does Ruger think that putting these people on the payroll will make their firearms better in some way? How about not hiring these people and passing along the savings?

Jeff82

They are going to show that Ruger can win. Can you?

Ed

None of those people can win any action shooting event if the top tier guys are there

Wild Bill

@Jeff82, We had a fairly well known International Shooting Match in Iraq, one year. We did pretty well.

Jeff82

Haha. That’s a good one! If it’s the one I’m thinking about I participated too.

Jeff82

They will be able to use the feedback from the team to make product improvement. I see that as making the guns better.
