USA – -(AmmoLand.com)- The iconic Marlin 1895 GBL Rifle has now been rechambered in 458 SOCOM by Bishop Ammunition and Firearms. By redesigning the cartridge carrier, bolt and modifications to the receiver, you now are able to carry a lever action in the hard-hitting and devastating 458 SOCOM.

Bishop Firearms 458 SOCOM Lever Action Rifle

The unique design of the 458 SOCOM 1895 GBL, unlike other lever-action rifles, allows the hunter a vastly wider range of ammunition bullet weights. The rifle accepts cartridges from 300 gr to 600 gr 458 SOCOM ammunition.

The Bishop Ammunition and Firearms 458 SOCOM 1895 GBL Lever Action chambered in 458 SOCOM comes with all the foregoing plus additional features other manufacturers charge extra for and now joins our line up in 458 SOCOM with our 458 SOCOM Hunter Bolt Action and the AR458 SOCOM Rifle. The 458 SOCOM 1895 GBL Lever Action was designed specifically for those situations where an AR-15 rifle is either not permitted for hunting while riding the range hunting feral hogs, or for those that want something completely different.

This rifle was the lever-action which the “experts” insisted could not be made. The result is a butter-smooth action, an approximately 3-pound trigger pull that brakes like glass and one of the finest lever-action rifles available for the money. All our rifles come with a locking tactical case at no extra charge and the XSight System sights are included as well.

Decisions, decisions. $3000 for a lever action, or $300 (or less) for an AR upper (and use your own lower).
I chose an AR upper for $250 shipped from BCA and used a lower from one of my ARs and sold that upper.
Hornady 300gr. HP handload ammo.

Good luck, at $3000 you’ll need it. As stated the 450 already exist and along with that so does the 444 marlin at a much more reasonable price tag.

I find it a novelty and unnecessary. The .450 Marlin already occupies this place in .458 cal. with a more powerful round in the lever action world.

It sure is pretty.
However once I got past the nice stock, I notice a muzzle brake. Is barrel threaded fo4 suppressor? As I understand it, 458 SOCOM as designed to be a hard hitting subsonic round – for suppression. Pointless extravagance at full volume.
