U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Not satisfied with the infringements from last year, gun-ban advocates are now going after private property rights. In an interview, Lori Haas of the so-called Coalition to Stop Gun Violence said that she plans to push for legislation to ban firearms from all polling locations and to make Capitol Square a permanent gun-free zone.
While many polling locations in the Commonwealth are located in schools, which are gun-free zones by law, others are located in venues that are private property. The legislation suggested will dictate to private property owners what they must do with their property. If they achieve this, there is no indication that they will stop there and they will likely try to disarm law-abiding citizens elsewhere.
Last year, Governor Ralph Northam used an emergency declaration to fence off Capitol Square and make it a gun-free zone, claiming it was necessary during a peaceful demonstration against anti-gun bills. Without that emergency declaration, Capitol Square is simply an open, publicly accessible part of the city of Richmond. Citizens regularly go there to conduct business or see tourist attractions. It is unreasonable for the law to create an arbitrary boundary for such an open area where law-abiding citizens are disarmed, while zero measures are taken to prevent criminals from entering.

How is she proposing to pay to ensure that the polling place is in fact “gun free?” How is she going to pay for metal detectors and the people who will have to run them? And let’s not forget the Police or private contractors who will enforce the prohibition. Just another Communist trying to control others. And my firearm went right along with me when I voted last November. Maybe she should remember that people can always “vote by mail” if they want to interact with others at the polling place. No, that’s not what she desires.
She isn’t going to be talking about it in any way except to advance her agenda. If you want to change that, show up at the meetings and confront her and make it loud and clear that she is wrong and back it up with statistics.Don’t let her change the minds of our citizens to believe a bunch of hogwash. Probably has never been in a predicament where she is feeling completely vulnerable-I have and it’s not a lot of fun.
That is what convinced me to take the class and apply for my carry permit.
Haas, learn how to read (with understanding) the 2nd Amendment.
She does not care about 2A, just ban ALL the guns already !!!
If it’s done correctly, a concealed firearm is not seen unless needed.

Lori Haas, you need to put gun free zone signs at your home, car, and where you work. Yeah, those will keep you safe.
