Los Angeles Police Dept. Selects FN 509 MRD-LE As New Duty Pistol

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- Following a highly competitive and rigorous qualification, FN America, LLC is pleased to announce that the FN 509 MRD-LE has been chosen by the Los Angeles Police Department as their new duty pistol. The FN 509 is a capable and versatile handgun platform that delivers rapid, precision fire in any environment. Officers training on marksmanship, tactical maneuvers and precision target engagements now have a more accurate and reliable sidearm, proven by the LAPD to perform with a wide variety of duty-rated handgun optics and ammunition.

“The Los Angeles Police Department is one of the largest and most elite law enforcement agencies in the country, with roughly 10,000 uniformed officers, and we are proud that they have chosen the FN 509 MRD-LE as their next duty pistol,” said Mark Cherpes, President and CEO of FN America, LLC. “The FN 509 MRD-LE is the only choice for agencies seeking an extremely capable and versatile duty pistol platform with proven reliability, accuracy and optic interoperability. Serving the men and women of an outstanding law enforcement agency like the LAPD brings great pride to everyone at FN, we look forward to supporting their police force with a remarkable handgun platform their officers will rely on every day.”

During the LAPD handgun trials, FN competed against several contenders in a 20,000-round-count endurance qualification, which it surpassed with zero malfunctions. “Exceeding all of the requirements LAPD sought in their new duty pistol was a high-performance standard to meet,” said Chris Cole, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at FN America, LLC. “With over a million rounds fired in development, the FN 509’s reputation for durability is proven here again giving LAPD officers a superior handgun they can depend on in the most demanding policing environments.”

Superior accuracy of the FN 509 MRD-LE starts with the patented FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System™. Adapted from the original development for the U.S. Army’s handgun trials, it gives officers more precision and sighting versatility than all other handguns.

“LAPD needed the ability to quickly and securely mount a variety of duty-rated micro red dots to their service pistols to improve the accuracy potential of their handguns and their officers,” said Charles “Bucky” Mills, Sr. Director of Law Enforcement Sales for FN America, LLC. “FN pioneered the MRD mounting technology the LAPD required, enabling precision shot placement and immediate target engagement no matter the environment.”

Accuracy is further enhanced by the high-performance trigger assembly and cold-hammer forged barrel. The combination of accuracy, speed, longevity and versatility gives the FN 509 MRD-LE the edge that today’s officers need.

FN’s New FN 509 MRD-LE

The FN 509 MRD-LE delivers more precision and versatility than any other duty-rated handgun. Building on the proven FN 509 lineup, the exclusive upgrades for law enforcement place every advantage in an officer’s hands. The FN 509 MRD-LE is the only choice for agencies who require complete reliability.

Pinpoint accuracy is made possible for all officers with a precision, hammer-forged barrel with recessed target crown, high-performance, conical striker and flat-faced, duty-rated trigger. With a positive wall at 90° before a clean break, officers maintain their sights on target through the full trigger pull. The FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System™ with co-witness tritium 3-dot iron sights, delivers rapid sight acquisition and consistent shot placement, vital when every shot must be accounted for.

Pure BS, this pistol isn’t on the California handgun roster. LAPD can but I can’t?

Roman Edict’s & Legal Maxims. Rules for thee but not for me. Hobbs & Locke’s old original forms of Law not organic “Natural Law” that the US was founded in. They work for the Masonic system currently in place not the people in reality. We are living it.

until fn is on comifornia approved list they should not deliver a single gun ,make sure they have the money but no delivery to comifornia

Parnell

Will they have the red dot so they can possibly hit what they’re aiming at?

Vinnie

Like that hostage?

Vinnie

As expected, this handgun is NOT on the “Safe List” published by the state of Kommiefornia, and so not available to us lowly peons.

Russn8r

What handguns “are” on this safe list in Kali?” -TEX

What “gun free” zones are on Abbott’s “constitutional carry” list in TEXAS, TEX?

Tyrants recieve new tools to oppress the masses. There…fixed that headline for you.

Russn8r

Yep. Watch out though. JBTs like OlTrailDog will accuse you of joining AntiFa.

A nice pistol so are others.

Must of gave them a heck of price.

Russn8r

Yep. LAPD now has a nice pistol to oppress & murder gun owners and enforce lockdowns and “asset forfeitures”.

OlTrailDog

Tsk, tsk, Russky. I would expect better from you. Have you moved to Portland, bought a black hoodie, and joined the BLM/antifa pajama kids? Don’t think so.

Russn8r

Was that one of them rhetorical strawman questions, genius? Why don’t you care about “LEOs” murdering innocents over “illegal” guns, to steal their land etc? Ex-enforcer? Glazy-eyed authority-worshiper?

Look up Donald Scott, murdered for his Malibu ranch by an L.A. Sheriff. Vicky & Sammy Weaver, Lavoy Finicum, the Branch Davidians, murdered by “LEO” federales. Tony Timpa, murdered by Dallas “LEO’s”. Scott free. They gave each other medals.

Back the Blue whatever they do, right, big boy?

Gee, thanks for the genius complement. Please read your reply again and consider exactly who is the “rhetorical strawman” proponent. Nonetheless, take care…they are out to get YOU, nahaa, haa, haa.

Another JBT deflection. Kudos, genius.

Have you joined the JBTs? Don’t you remember Daniel Shaver? https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/national/judge-releases-video-of-police-shooting-of-daniel-shaver-after-officer-acquitted/2017/12/08/3e715e7a-dc3e-11e7-a241-0848315642d0_video.html LEOs (as a group) are only heroes to their families, other LEOs, and a shrinking subset of all others (many of the same people that think the NRA is fighting for our rights or that the only problem with the NRA is Wayne and some of the current BOD). Rodney King riots 1992 Ruby Ridge 1992 Donald Scott 1992 Waco 1993 Katrina 2005 Emma Hernandez & Margie Carranza 2013 LaVoy Finicum 2016 Daniel Shaver 2016 Botham Jean 2018 Summer of Love 2020 Are you like Cruiser who dares “Come… Read more »

I remember Daniel Shaver. Tried to forget. So sad. Those JBTs should be in prison pending execution. Those who make excuses for them should be shunned by loyal citizens.

Horrific video. All the LEOs involved got off. Not one “good apple” intervened. Fellow Mesa enforcers were online at the time saying Brailsford and Langley (the psychopath who was screaming the orders) did nothing wrong. Brailsford, who was 28, was diagnosed with “PTSD” from the event and is receiving a monthly disability check for the rest of his life.

Hernandez and Carranza went through a terrifying ordeal as well, but they survived the LA hit team who fired over a hundred rounds at them (they mistook them for one of their own who had became a “bad apple”).

Ha, it looks like we have Russkie and JSNMGC casting circular thumbs up. Enlighten my ignorance, what is a JBTs? I’m not saying bad, corrupt, and heinous things aren’t committed by LEOs. Unfortunately true. Fortunately few and far between. However, it seems the Russky, and now you, have the unfortunate mindset that they are all evil based solely on the comments you have made. Sounds the same as the BLM/antifa/Defund the police folks. PS: Nice FN pistol the police force chose. If you can’t purchase it in your state I’d suggest moving or voting differently. I think that is what… Read more »

OlTrailDog, Are you a retired enforcer? You wrote: “it seems that Russky, and now you, have the unfortunate mindset that they are all evil based solely on the comments you have made.” That’s not true. I have never said they are all evil. In fact, I’ve said that I have empathy for all the good LEOs. It must have been unbearable for good people to have to work around “TEX”(Will), Brailsford, and Langley. In this thread, I listed some glaring examples of bad LEOs and noted that there were no good LEOs around to intervene in the Shaver incident. The… Read more »

Another strawman deflection by OlTrailDog. Who said they’re all evil? Not me. I Back the Blue, but only those who Back Me & the Constitution. “Few & far between like the cells in your brain? You clearly don’t care about murder by cop, which facilitates murder by cop. If geniuses like you held bad apples accountable instead of covering for them & pissing on their vics, 1000s of good people like Daniel Shaver & Donald Scott – and scumbags like George Floyd – wouldn’t have been murdered & there would’ve been no riots. But then you wouldn’t be able to… Read more »

Absolutely correct. Duty to protect infrastructure of state government but not the people. Been that way for years. People still asleep.
