Booger

I sure hope the drawing is Jan 16 2025 not 2024!

John Dow

You’ll need that special Delorean to go claim your win.

John Dow

OR……….go get a 5.56 gun!

Nick

Winchester makes the best 5.56 NATO that I’ve seen lately. But I prefer M855, not M193.

Nick

People complain that it doesn’t yaw, and that it doesn’t blow up melons like M193. But I’ve shot logs, and stumps, and junk with both M193 and M855, and the M855 really punches through those logs and stumps and junk, much much deeper. Given the prevalence of body armor I’ll take penetration over yawing. I know the troops complained in Somalia, during Black Hawk Down that the M855 couldn’t get the job done, but I wonder, how many of those who complained were armed with the various carbines, the pre M4 carbines, with 10″ and 11″ barrels? The bullet loses… Read more »

Nick

I’ve shot both, while shooting at inanimate objects. I’ve made my conclusion that M855 is best for my needs.

And since you were a Marine, I’m sure your knowledge is so vastly superior to mine regarding the 5.56mm NATO cartridge, and the AR15, that you could simply tell me what you think the pro’s and con’s of each are, instead of leaving a mysterious link for me to click on… Which I won’t click on.

Nick

Again, I was rather hoping to hear what a Marine’s opinion was, being that you are a retired Marine, and your PERSONAL opinion/experience, regarding the M855 and M193.

I’m not interested in what some random internet data has to say. I was interested in what a hardcore Marine, like you, had so say.
Since you can’t, or won’t, then continuing this conversation is pointless.

Nick

That actually made me laugh out loud. Why so reluctant to state your personal thoughts and experiences?
You are a retired Marine! Every Marine’s a rifleman first. Clearly you have some opinion on the matter.
Which makes me wonder, why don’t you just tell me? Why just some random internet link?
One would think a retired Marine who frequents a website entitled AMMOLAND would be happy to share his thoughts and opinions and experiences when it comes to guns and ammo and shooting.

All this makes me wonder…

Nick

I’ve known some Marines over the years, and I still know one. He’s got an opinion on everything gun related. He loves guns, shooting, collecting. About the only thing he doesn’t do in terms of guns is hunt.
Between his experience, and knowledge, he can go on and on and on. Now, I may disagree at times with his opinion on something, but he’s never reluctant to give his thoughts. When I’ve asked a gun question he’s never replied with “go look at this website”.

Maybe it’s because he was a rifleman in Vietnam…

Nick

You didn’t detect any hint of sarcasm in what I wrote?
Also, it’s been made clear to me, that asking about Getout’s service history here, is not allowed and that I must keep all comments related to 2A.
So therefore, I did not ask about Getout’s service, and only pursued the issue of the M855 vs M193.
I’m following the rules…

Ledesma

You should try on a few strait-jackets for size Mister. You’re probably wearing one now.

Nick

Looks like Getout’s going to get you and me sent to the dog house again shortly.

And I didn’t down vote you.

I wouldn’t ask Nick that question. He would probably rat on you to Brian, like in the post I posted earlier, when he was ratting on all of us.

Oldman

Got ya!

Nick

I see blame it all on me. Even though I don’t work for ammo land.

I do find it strange that stuff we write gets put into never ending approval land and Dinkergungus or whatever his name is can post not just writing, but vile pictures. Stuff about babies… Real evil stuff.
I can only assume that ammo lands terms of service apply to some readers, but not all readers.

Oldman

And yet, you keep coming back for more……I don’t get it. I’m old, that’s my excuse…..but you?

Wild Bill

He does not even have any real experience at being victimized. Just what they taught him in school.

Nick

Wild Bill trolls my comments night and day, and I reply to one in a few dozen, if that.
Wild Bill needs to ease up.
