Dallas, TX –-(Ammoland.com)- GunsForSale.com, the premier gun and ammunition e-commerce site, announced the publication of a comprehensive review of the Taurus 740 Slim pistol. The review was published on the GunsForSale.com blog, Guns, Holsters and Gear.

“The Taurus 740 proved to be an incredible value,” said Richard Johnson, the author of the review. “It offers .40-caliber stopping power in a small, easy to conceal package, while maintaining a price that everyone can afford.”

The Taurus 740 pistol was tested on the range using a wide variety of self defense and practice ammunition. Features including the manual safety, SA/DA trigger system, and the three-dot, adjustable sights were all tested and evaluated.

“The pistol performed very well,” said Johnson. “Everything just worked. But, what surprised me was the out-of-the-box accuracy. The sights are excellent on a pistol of this size, and shots were dead on.”

The complete Taurus 740 review can be found at GunsForSale.com.

What is the recommendation for ammunition for ty his firearm? I just got mine and plan to take it to the range this weekend

I have the 740 slim, nice gun, very reliable however its not for the faint of heart as it is a handful with 180 grain bullets. Great concealed carry weapon.

I have the 9mm version of this (709) for my daughter to shoot and after playing with it myself am heavily considering the 740 as my concealed carry option. My first round out of the box with the 709 at 15 yards was dead center and I am used to shooting a Glock 23 so the SA 9mm was a little different. 709 is a great little gun and I can only imagine the 740 is just as nice with a little more kick.

I have to disagree with Ken on accuracy. My 740 is very good, I can consistantly hit an 8X10" steel plate at 25yds. On a standard 50' slow fire target all seven rounds go into the black. I'm not sure why this pistol with such a short sight radius shoots so well for me but it does. The 740 and my Buckmark .22 are the two most accurate (for me) of my handguns.

This gun is a piece of crap. At 7 yards you cant center the piece of garbage.
