Groton, CT –-(Ammoland.com)- The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) sends out their heartfelt sympathies to the victims, families, and the entire community of Newtown, CT in the wake of today’s school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

It is impossible to comprehend the full scope of this tragedy, and the lasting damage to children of such young age. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers throughout this ordeal and beyond.

CCDL President, Scott Wilson, also had this to say: “We, as law abiding gun owners abhor senseless and violent acts that harm our fellow human beings – especially innocent children.

There have been, many statements condemning firearms and gun owners as a result of this tragedy. This was an act of deranged behavior from a mentally ill individual, not of decent and law abiding people that own guns and respect life.

The members of CCDL weep with our fellow citizens of Connecticut”.

About the CCDL:
The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since their founding, the group has grown to over 2,500 members from all walks of life. Thanks to this large support base across the state the CCDL has become a fixture of the capitol, well recognized by all committees that regularly see firearms related bills as well as the state Board of Firearms Permit Examiners. As the go-to organization in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws. In the time since their founding not a single anti-gun bill has made it through the House or the Senate, and many of their own bills have been introduced and passed.

What is the same in all of these events ? The malfunctioning thought process. The medications pushed on children that have not been tested worse side effects and dire consequences if stopped. Given to still developing minds and interfereing with the development of said mind. Of course that couldnt be the problem pharmaceutical companies wouldnt put profit before safety and they wouldnt put medications out that get recalled due to causing more harm than good. Keep treating the symptoms and not the cause of the problem. This is a terrible act and will continue until the real problem is identified

We don't have to explain ourselves. The sick gun grabbers will always blame us. They don't think that people need to take responsibility for their actions and own what they did. It is always the guns fault. I'm not going to blame mentally ill people because very, very few of them ever hurt anyone. If you think about it, we all in some way, are mentally ill. Anger and hatred is a form of mental illness. It's just that the average person knows you don't kill just because you feel these emotions, sometimes. You work through it and realize it's… Read more »

The CCDL expresses the sentiments of every decent gun owner in the USA. Unfortunately we will see this again and again as long as the incredibly stupid 'gun free zones' are enforced. Where else would crazies go but to a gun free killing zone? They can kill as many as they please for a very long time before the cops show up, with no one to stop them with force.
