USA –-(Ammoland.com)- Texas Tribune reported 07-07-2017 in Austin, Texas, a federal court has dismissed a lawsuit by three University of Texas professors who argued that a new state law allowing concealed handguns on campus could have a “chilling effect” on classroom debate.
Sociology professor Jennifer Lynn Glass and English professors Lisa Moore and Mia Carter sued last summer before the law took effect in September. It requires public universities to allow people with concealed-handgun licenses to carry weapons inside school buildings.
The professors said guns in classrooms could lead to self-censorship during discussions about emotional or politically charged topics, such as abortion or gay rights. They said that could disrupt academic discussions and violate constitutional free speech protections.
U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel dismissed the case Thursday, ruling the professors offered “no concrete evidence to substantiate their fears.”

Another Federal Judge makes a valid decision that just because you idiot lefties are nervous around guns, does not void the Constitution.
I hope the professors appeal this case to our newly evolving Supreme Court.

I assume that every one I meet is armed. If every one did that I think our civil discourse would be, well, more civilized. Should you avoid deliberately irritating others. Yes, you should. Its safer that way. Should you learn how to make your point without insulting others and “setting your hair on fire”, absolutely. I just fail to see the downside to legal concealed campus carry. What these red in the face, screaming idiot, liberal professors are really upset about is not being able to intimidate their students at will.

@freewill, You are right, there is no duty to rescue. But more importantly, I think that you have stumbled upon an actual use for brain dead, anti-Second Amendment Civil Rights, liberals. Decoys! They volunteer to be great decoys, and clarify confusing situations. E.g. You are in a mall. You hear pop, pop, pop, and screaming. You seek cover. They seek the use of their cell phone. They continue to fall writhing, as you see who is doing what and decide on a course of action.
GOOD! Now if someone can just get these hags to S T F U – all would be great. And I think the one with the sign that says ” Guns aren’t teaching tools ” has no clue! Just ask the criminals who were shot trying to rob someone. The only “chilling effect” on debate in the class room has been the refusal by liberal students and faculty to allow Conservative representation on campus in any form. Is the left worried that physically assaulting Conservative students might be met with legal resistance?

I attended UT Austin and when I was there it was NOT overpopulated with liberal professors, feminists and little girly men trying to pass for males. Over the past couple of decades, starting even before Obama’s reign, the ridiculous protests, most recently regarding guns on campus, have become ludicrous. I understand. The exact same problems are occurring at OU. The Oklahoma University campus, and the city of Norman in general, have literally become Berkley Lite. [Sadly, my own niece, a freshman there, has already been academically degenerated into a moronic social-justice-warrior “snowflake”… it sickens me.]

I have carried a number of times at OU. Two graduations, two football games, and many visits to the fraternity house where my youngest was a member being some of them. Concealed means concealed.
