SIG SAUERNewington, NH-(Ammoland.com)- SIG SAUER, Inc. has determined that a limited number of rifles in the SIG716 DMR, SIG516 Carbon Fiber, and SIGM400 Predator models were built with a two-stage SIG SAUER trigger that may have an improperly heat-treated hammer.

Over time this could result in a trigger malfunction creating a significant safety hazard. SIG SAUER is issuing a mandatory recall to replace the hammer and trigger assembly in these specific rifles.

This recall does not affect any military or law enforcement rifles or any SIG MCX/SIG MPX products.

I have the 516 Carbon Fiber but my serial # was not on the recall list

I FULLY agree with Joe Williams. SIG has bitten off more than it can chew, from the unexplained delayed release of their suppressors to absolute incompetence from their service department when I sent in a SIG threaded barrel in to have the gorilla handed thread cap removed. Correct, their pistols remain the best, but it’s the followup customer care that worries me and SIG needs to remember that they aren’t the only game out there…

WHEW! Good thing I only have the regular @ss NOT $3000 Patrol rifle from like 80 years ago.

As Murphy noted, Anything That Can Go Wrong Will, and When It Does, There Will Always Be Someone Who Just Knew It Would.
