Statistics Show Concealed Carry Permit Holders Are Among Most Law-Abiding Citizens in America
West Bend, WI –-(Ammoland.com)- Gun rights are once again under attack by anti-Second Amendment advocates, and today the Violence Policy Center (VPC) has come out with a misleading report accusing responsible concealed carry permit holders of committing mass shootings and killing police officers.
“Concealed carry permit holders are supposed to be the ‘good guys with guns,’ but our research shows that far too often the opposite is true, claimed VPC Legislative Director Kristen Rand. “Permit holders don’t stop mass shootings, they commit them. They don’t help protect law enforcement officers, they kill them.”
Studies released by this organization have been widely discredited in the past, and the report released today is more of the same. Gun rights organizations such as the United States Concealed Carry Association are pointing this out, and reminding the public that concealed carry permit holders are actually some of the most law-abiding citizens, even in studies including police officers.
“The anti-gun lobby and its front groups like the VPC will apparently stop at nothing to destroy Americans’ Second Amendment freedoms and that includes releasing false and misleading reports such as this,” said Tim Schmidt, President & Founder of the United States Concealed Carry Association. “This is truly shameful because the reality is that study after study has shown the exact opposite which is that concealed carry permit holders are among the most law-abiding and responsible members of our society. Instead of trying to scare the American people with phony statistics, the VPC should be apologizing to the millions of good, hard-working Americans who have taken the initiative to protect their families, friends and neighbors.”

And how many reports of defensive gun uses have you seen where the perp was shot, and stopped, and taken to the hospital where he survived? Plenty.
Isn’t it said that about 85% of people shot with a pistol survive? So there are a lot of DGUs out there that don’t result in dead perps, but do result in living would be victims.
To that number we must add all the cases of a “defensive display” of a gun that sends a would-be perp scurrying off to find an unarmed victim. Most of those incidents go unreported — Why bother to report a crime that didn’t happen, and bog yourself down with a police investigation?

Three mass shootings in 20 mile radius of my house were stopped by a private citizen with a license to carry.

These were all between 2012 and 2013.
Maybe PA was excluded?
It baffles me the crap that comes out from these gun control groups.
Now WHY would anybody who commits crimes, mass shootings, etc. etc. take the trouble to go get a Concealed Carry License?? Can this stupid VPC answer this question? And what about all the criminals who are carrying now without a license? Should there be a law passed that would REQUIRE them to get a license before they can commit crimes, mass shootings? I think that might do the trick. (duh).
