Colorado – -(AmmoLand.com)- On Saturday, September 28 at 1:00pm Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams and Rally for our Rights founder, Lesley Hollywood will be presenting information about Colorado’s controversial new “Red Flag” Extreme Risk Protection Orders ERPO law.

This event will be held at the Longmont Public Library in room A/B. The presentation is free and open to the public and will include a Q & A segment. Seating is available for 90 people, and RSVP is encouraged but not necessary. RSVP can be made on Facebook at this link or by email at [email protected]

Colorado’s “Red Flag” law passed the state legislature in March by one vote, with every Republican and three Democrats voting against it. The legislation is highly controversial, and the law will go into effect January 1, 2020.

This seminar will go over what is in the legislation with a PowerPoint reference to bill language. Attendees will learn how it works, why it’s so worrisome for gun owners, what to expect after the law is implemented, and obtain resources. This will be followed by a Q&A and discussion. Handouts will be provided. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be available.

The event will take place as follows:

This is a big waste of time. Get it over with and red flag someone that will take this to the court as far as it takes to resolve that it is an abomination on our Constitution and not legal.

Perhaps a conviction for federal-level felony perjury, and public hanging, would be an even BETTER idea. Would only require one or two instances, and the rest of those wastes-of-human-skin would – very damned quickly – bring their behavior more in-line with the Constitution (and reality, in general).

I sorely wish I could attend this meeting, if for nothing else but to be the squeaky wheel in the sheriff’s ear about how they can justify and get away with violating (at the least) the 4th, 5th, 6th and 14th amendments. I will never understand how this, along with the thousands of other amendment violating laws, have ever been legally enforced…and why judges are not only permitting the violations to continue but ignoring their oath to uphold the Constitution and all it entails. Why hasn’t there been lawsuits brought about that actually addresses this complete and utter disregard of… Read more »

FYI; In Maryland, Montgomery County, one man has already been murdered by the second in line police who were sent to this gentleman’s home by a disgruntled family member. The police who shot the man was the second one BEHIND the initial policeman who was conversing with the elderly gentleman.
As it stands; anyone can begin the “EROP / RED FLAG CONFISCATION” order WITHOUT the “subject” being able to say ANYTHING in their defense!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Politicians who support this notion will regret the day they ever heard of red flag laws. Currently, they allow a crotchety aunt to complain about a blustery nephew and state police will confiscate his firearms. These laws empower government to repress people because it suspects they might do something nefarious or stupid. Their legacies will carry a Supreme Court scolding and perhaps be the landmark of their careers. The Supreme Court isn’t about to jeopardize its own reputation by reducing the ability of private citizens to defend themselves. It’s especially important to the justices because currently, half the nation’s murders… Read more »

They are simply gun confiscation laws without due process as endorsed by our anti-gun President.

@Vanns40,let’s wait and see if Trump does anything stupid. The problem is that he is too easily influenced by the wrong people, esp.scumbag Lapierre. He knows that if he does something ignorant he will lose a big chunk of his base. But I know exactly where you’re coming from. Take care.

Will: The problem is he has already done a number of “stupid” things. Do we really need to recount them? Okay I will: 1. Bump Stock ban and ordering ATF to redefine the definition of machine gun and making felons out of hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans. Now ATF is finally admitting it has no authority to do that since they’re about to get their clock cleaned in court. 2. Lying to gun owners re National Reciprocity. Six months after he’s in office he said “National Reciprocity is dead” 3. Lying to gun owners about the Hearing Protection Act.… Read more »
