U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Atlanta Democratic Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms soared to the national spotlight following her speech to her city’s rioters and looters to “Stay home!” earlier this year. Democrats took notice and she’s on the shortlist as a candidate to be presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s running mate. She joined Moms Demand Action’s Shannon Watts for the latest installment in Everytown for Gun Safety’s 2020 Veepstakes.
Though she may not be as well recognized nationally as some of the previous higher-profile participants like U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), U.S. Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.) or even fellow Georgian and 2018 failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, Mayor Lance Bottoms does have a major gun control chit to play. She is the Chairwoman for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) Platform Drafting Committee. With former Vice President Joe Biden leading the ticket, there should be no doubt gun control will be a major focus.
“Vice President Biden has always been very vocal about his views on gun control…and so many more stringent things that we need in place,” said Mayor Lance Bottoms.
More Control. Less Gun Rights
Vice President Biden’s gun control beliefs are well known. He continues to spout false claims about the firearm industry and has given unsound and unsafe advice to his wife and police officers. He’s scolded potential voters who correctly pointed out his misunderstanding of the Second Amendment. Vice President Biden’s also spoken in favor of expanded background checks and offers winks towards gun confiscation by announcing he’d anoint former U.S. Rep. Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-Texas) as his gun-grabbing sheriff. Don’t forget his past support of and pledge to reinstate and 1994 Assault Weapons Ban even though it was shown to be ineffective.
DNC Platform Chairwoman Lance Bottoms? She’s all in.
“I believe that our platform will do just that,” she said. “Some of the work will be picking up where the Obama Biden administration left off, and some will be new work that will move us forward.”
Mayor Lance Bottoms joined several of her mayor colleagues in signing a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) demanding legislation for more gun control. The proposals listed are an antigun grab bag of ideas that will do little to seriously address the problem of criminal misuse of firearms. Included in the mayors’ demands are “red flag” laws that deny due process to the accused, instituting magazine capacity limits, expanding background checks that would create felons out of law-abiding citizens, and close other so-called “loopholes” that are in fact just Second Amendment protections.
Wait. Watch. Educate.
Biden has stated he will likely name his running mate sometime in August, having pledged to name a woman. Following the coronavirus pandemic and unrest following business shutdowns, riots, and looting and the previously mentioned historic numbers of new gun owners across the country, access to exercise Second Amendment rights and purchase a firearm will be at the forefront in November.
NSSF launched the online voter education resource #GUNVOTE to help gun owners to register to vote and become more knowledgeable on gun control proposals and how candidates’ positions will affect them. From the presidential level down to congressional and local level elections, voters must register to vote and be educated when they head to the polls so they don’t risk their rights.

America is a Republic. In a Republic, you have rights that the majority cannot step on. Unless those that seek to destroy America are prosecuted for their crimes against the people, these assaults on Freedom will continue. There’s no room for Mobocracy in the laws of the Republics Constitution. You have rights, know them.
Sorry to say Stripe, but if Biden along with his ultra-left cabal get elected, this Republic could be in it’s last days. Fortunately there are many like me, and presumably you from your user name, that took an oath some years ago which has never expired. We will need to stand together if this political war turns hot.

I love and respect the people who have worn the uniform of military service. Meanwhile, please do not assume that those of us who have not worn that cloth and literally taken the oath, are less ready and devoted to the oath or the service. There should not be elitism among patriots. Sadly, quite a few who have worn the uniform are not of the caliber of many who have not, although as a group, our veterans are great defenders of freedom.
Venezuela was a republic only a few years ago. It didn’t take long to change that, by bribing the people with government money to vote a despot into continuing power. (Seems somehow familiar….) Of course, whether the Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of North Korea, or the People’s Republic of China, it always sounds good to keep the name of “republic”, even when its meaning is a hollow shell, a euphemistic pretense that the people have some sort of a voice in their government.
It is beginning to become apparent that SCOTUS is refusing to hear 2A cases waiting to see if Biden is elected. Then when the congress guts the second they can rule those laws constitutional.

All these hard headed politicians can’t get it through their thick skulls that we have a crime problem by lawbreakers not honest gun owners.
The democrats have ran the major cities for years and it’s been under their leadership that crime has gotten bad in some areas and mass shootings happen in so called gun free zones.
Crack down on the crooks and leave Joe 6-pack alone.

To politicians, crime and criminals are not the problem. Freedom loving gun owners are the obstacle to politicians achieving their agenda for power, control, and wealth. Crime and criminals are merely distracting Useful Tools in performing their David Copperfield style illusions to make freedom and rights disappear. One hand distracts, while the other makes your freedom and rights vanish. While we are jacking our jaws and pounding the keyboards, we’re not shooting politicians. And, for politicians, that is second best to politicians eliminating our freedoms and rights.
I think I might just vote for Biden to get the ball rolling on the gun confiscation. I’m tired of the empty threats. I’m getting older. Let’s get this going before I need a walker. Biden can’t fill a phone booth. But some how he’s going to magically win a election with lying polls ? He had like 19 people at his rally. Wasn’t any better before the scamdemic. lol

Meanwhile, millions of guns have been flying off of the shelves, gun manufacturers are working around the clock to fill orders, ammo and gun components are being bought up at the rapid rate. Yeah, more gun control laws are only going to affect the law abiding.
In today’s violent environment, good luck getting the guns from the people voluntarily.
