You say this is a a “….short-term money-saving deal!” Really? Give me a break. What would cost $150 a few years back now has TRIPLED in cost. Greedy bastards in the industry are profiting big-time while we either pony up the bucks or go without. If anyone has any useful ideas on how to fix this I’m all ears.

Pre pandemic price on primers was about $35.00 a thousand, that’s closer to $180.00 then $150.00

I’d get CCI on sale for $28 per thousand quite often. I’d stock up and get 10K at a time. Those 10K have been gone for at least 18 months now. And I guess if you added hazmat and shipping you would be right. Where has gas doubled? More like tripled. And as for eggs? Well those chickens are being killed that lay them because of “bird flu”. We are being screwed big time.
A few years back?Two years to be more precise. SOMEONE is screwing the public to charge 10 cent A PIECE for primers. Something that at $150 a case should be making them $140 profit. It is disgusting to say the least. I’m going without until they get to around $40-$50 a thousand. Screw it. I like their excuses too. I know a guy who has a reloading business and he told me the OEM CCI primers he uses are costing him about $25 a thousand. He buys 50K at a time and up to 100K So what is going on… Read more »

I’m not THAT old, but I do remember when a careful shopper could get 5000 name brand primers for $30. (That was “about” 45 years ago.) As expected, prices rose steadily over time – no real surprises for decades, costs went up in more or less the same proportion as everything else. But the last 5 – 8 years have seen prices and availability varying wildly like a roller coaster with a sharp upward trend.
