First word that comes to mind — expensive! The 1911, in my opinion, is the most beautiful style of handgun out there. There are plenty of available parts for customization. However, I’ve read that they’re not out-of-the-box accurate. It takes some tweaking to get them that way. The things I’ve read suggest that they require alot more maintenance than your average Glock or XD. After all the adjustments and tweaking, however (which is not cheap), I hear that it is the most accurate pistol money can buy. It’s not for everyone.

Wilson Combats 1911s do not need to be tweaked out of the box to be accurate, that is the opposite of the truth. They are actually guaranteed to have a 3.5 inch group or less and come with a target that has been fired in at in the QA checklist to show proof of this. Also, they are hand fitted to be as tight as possible, to compare one to a Glock is not something you can even do as they are not even in the same ball park.
