Ft Collins, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- You’re on your own!

The City of Baltimore (hopelessly broke and starving for cash, like most cities) announced that it is refusing to pay a civil judgement levied against it from a 2009 case involving alleged police misconduct, with the preposterous excuse that officers involved were “… operating outside their official duties.”

They made the announcement on the 4th of July 2015, obviously hoping no one would notice

Plaintiffs are, of course, disputing the ridiculous claim, but still seeking recovery from individual officers.

Their nightmare thus continues!

Here is the implication for the few BPD officers who are still working, and for beleaguered police officers around the Country, particularly those working in deteriorating metro areas (ie: all metro areas):

When litigation arises from something in which you were involved, you (along with your sergeant, lieutenant, and partners) may suddenly discover you have no indemnity! You may find yourself personally on the hook for all civil judgements. Your cynical employer, piously declaring his innocence, will then garnish your wages, and pension, to pay the claim!

So, when the mayor pushes officers to make arrests, in order to boost statistics and thus make herself look good, think about this:

Do you really think the City of Baltimore will now pay the claim in the Gray lawsuit, or will the mayor suddenly develop amnesia with regard to her own instructions to the police department?

And, will any officer, anywhere, who tries to make an arrest of a suspect with whom the leftist media subsequently falls in love, be told the arrest was “… outside of his official duties,” and that he thus does not enjoy the support of his employer, and is being thrown to the wolves.

And, will the local DA (anxious, as always, to please the mob) then lock you up, drop all charges against the defendant, and sue you personally in order to recover judgement(s) against the City?

It is not a good time to be a cop, especially a good one who is trying to do his job.

Amoral leftists are not capable of honorable, competent leadership, as we are relentlessly seeing demonstrated!

“‘Consensus’ is the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values, and policies to the point where the proposal in question represents something in which no one believes, and to which no one objects.” ~ Margaret Thatcher

    1. If you’re considering a career in law enforcement, in addition to the above, just remember you’ll be considered a “Pig” until they need you and you’ll go back to being a “Pig” when you’re done doing what they can’t do!

    2. As one who wants to see the rouge police officer handled and tried like anyother criminal, I for one am happy to have a “working for my protection” police force. I however am blessed with living in a community where the police know the residents and we for the most part know them. I have found them to be caring and concerned about this township. Inner city getto crime is stopped at our city limits because these officers pay attention and spend their valuable time patrolling our streets. Something probably going on in your city as well just not noticed. Although I expect to be protected I realize the first line of defense lies with me. The first gun I bought was from a retired police owned store and the advice and information I received as stayed with me over the past 40 years. Be trained on proper handling, practice and be alert and aware of my surroundings. We have more criminals, lunatics and drug addled thugs on the street now as we are all aware. Well so are the police equally aware and God bless the officer who have to make the call of kill or be killed.

    3. Mikrat: Typical BS comments from a ‘keyboard commando’. The type that is real tough when typing at a computer but would burn up the 911 line as soon as trouble happens to them. ‘Work for tyranny’? What a crock; there were not enough cops on duty during my shift to take over a 7-11. You, sir, are an IDIOT. Grow up or shut up.

    4. Riffraff: I was going to reply to your ignorant, juvenile comments until I read your nom de plume. That says it all. You are just another punk; I dealt with hundreds of slimeballs like you over my years of service. Slither back under your rock leave the conversations to folks with an IQ over room temperature…….

      1. Hey Clark, you tell Mikrat he’s tough when hiding behind a keyboard. What about you, Mr. super tough with your badge, gun, and every other thug cop to back you up. When it gets real tough, you get out the cowardly plexiglas shield, tear gas, and real guns. Then after you wet your panties, the national guard shows up.

      1. Fire 90% start over , Lawmakers fire 100% , start over with Consitutional basics . Let states fix their own problems and roads. Would be no such animal as free foreign aid or forgiving loans.

    5. The concept of Qualified Immunity was a misbegotten judicial construct. Laws should apply to all equally from street beggar to president. Do no wrong and you won’t be held to answer for wrongdoing.

    6. How about we are all part of the problem and we need to find a solution. Always blaming the other side is pure ignorance. Thus this article is darn lame. On the subject of Cops whom I support, I worry about their training as it seems so easy to shoot someone now a days. That is if you are a Cop, so maybe training more as a civilian police force would be helpful. I know I have the restraint as I was born with it.

    7. Hey CLARK KENT, I love that stupid line “we put our lives on the line every day!” What a line of Bullshit! Cops are not even on the top 15 most dangerous jobs. But do we have massive parades, color guard, and bagpipes when a roofer falls to his death? When your tree trimmer gets crushed, do the taxpayers get stuck with the bill for every tree trimmer in the state to attend the funeral. When was the last time a city council allocated $100,000 for a memorial to all the farmers who died while serving their community by growing food?
Public service? What a joke, retire in 25 years with a lifelong pension while 95% of the time , all you’re doing is stealing money from us with ridiculous fines, and throwing people in jail for have three beers after work, while you chicken shits let the gang bangers run amok, unafraid of you pussies

    8. There is no such thing as a good cop. They all work for tyranny. Just because one gets to play hero once in a while doesn’t make him any better than the bad ones who he very well knows secrets about …

      1. Good grief, two trolls in such a short period of time. We might have to put out an alert.

    9. Brothers, stay out of the ghetto jungle, and let them murder each other and burn down their infrastructure. Let the law of the jungle prevail, and STAY SAFE!

      /s/ Durabo

    10. Mike M: Hey clueless clown, here are a few facts. As a retired police officer, I paid HALF of my pension, it was not paid for solely by the government. ‘Epidemic of police misconduct’? Care to present some FACTS to back up that whopper? The only phony is YOU because you sit on your fat azz safe in your house due to those who put their lives on the line every day. Why don’t YOU put up or shut up and become a police officer and show us all how it is done? Oh, I forgot, you are the type that 364 days a year screams ‘fu*k the pigs!’ until that one day of the year your butt is in a jam and then you scream ‘HELP, POLICE, HEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!’.

      1. Nice TYPICAL Response from an ex-Cop.

Open your eye’s and you’ll see what he’s talking about – But i guess your ego will get in the way. Cops are not in BUSINESS to protect or serve we the people – You are in Business to Serve and Protect the Corporate CITY you work for, The Bankers and to be a Revenue Collector.

Even SCOTUS has ruled that Cops are not there to protect the people.

I would never call the cops if in trouble.

        Exactly:
        “D.A. Moran says:

    11. Gee, I guess “don’t be an abusive cop with no regard to the people who feed you and pay your pension” is totally lost on today’s cops?

Awww.. Gee…. the cities can no longer afford to pay for the epidemic of police misconduct lawsuits and will now hold today’s brand of phony wannabe warfighter cops responsible?

Oh nooo! How DARE anyone hold the police accountable right pension porkers? Too bad. We tried it your way and see the “results”. If you can’t do the job correctly like most cops then quit, don’t whine and call everyone libs or cons or whatever you attribute the problem to. The fault is your own. Too bad cities can’t pay your abuse lawsuits boo fckn hoo!
