Las Vegas –-(Ammoland.com)- AmmoLand editor, Duncan grips the wheel of the Audi R8. His knuckles turn white with desire. The engine revs as he puts the supercar into gear.
Giving the beast a little bit of gas the V10 comes to life and explodes onto the track like a bomb going off. The surrounding becomes a blur as he enters the turn at breakneck speed. Duncan hits the straightaway and lets loose. His body fills with electricity as the car rockets down the track.
This is SPEEDVEGAS, and this is the Brownells Convoy ‘Cross America!
Duncan and Patrick drove through the night to get to Las Vegas from Utah for the second to last stop on the Brownells Convoy ‘Cross America tour. Sin City is known for its glitz and glamor, so Brownells had to include Vegas as a stop. After all, it is the home of the NSSF SHOT Show, which is the premier industry gathering for the gun world.
They were put up at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino on the famous Las Vegas Strip. This four-star resort features 2,664 rooms and 220 suites, restaurants, a casino, and is home to the world famous Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère. The pair of wayward travelers was quite shocked at the lack of a SHOT Show going in Vegas, but they would make due.
Brownells which sells guns sponsors this convoy, and Duncan works for a gun website so why not check out a gun shop? Duncan and Patrick visited Ventura Munitions. Ventura Munitions offers bulk and specialty ammo. They also have a great store in Las Vegas. Their customer service is top notch!
Duncan and Patrick weren’t there to see the lights of the strip or gamble their life savings away. They were there to do something as American as shooting guns. They were there to strap in and drive fast cars. This is an American tradition.
There is no better place to drive than at SPEEDVEGAS. SPEEDVEGAS is a “Disneyland” for car guys that like to drive fast in amazing cars. Drivers can fly around the track in everything from the classic American Muscle of the Shelby Mustang GT to the European elegance of a Ferrari 458 Italia. The best part about it is that you won’t end up in jail for going over 130mph.
SPEEDVEGAS boasts an incredible 1.5-mile track. The drivers bank 15 degrees around the 12 turns on that track. The track features 60 feet of elevation changes to thrill the drivers. The 1000 foot back straight away is where drivers let loose. This “need for speed” driving experience was a significant change from the faithful Tacoma.
One of the heroes of Benghazi, John “Tig” Tiegan, was in attendance at the track. If anyone knows about excitement, it is Tig.
YouTube star, Hank Stange got to meet some of his adoring fans. The “We Like Shooting” podcast also enjoyed some laps in the fleet of supercars, and of course the Brownells Bureau of Propaganda members, Ryan and Josh were on hand with plenty of swag to go around.
At this stop, Jason and Ben from Skillset Magazine joined the crew. Skillset Magazine is a Veteran owned “men’s interest” magazine. Where other men’s interest magazine concentrates on the beta male, Skillset Magazine is for the alpha male. This stop was alpha as it gets!
At the end of the evening, everyone said goodbye to the crew at SPEEDVEGAS, and the team drove off to their next and final stop in L.A
