NRA Praises Vermont Superior Court Decision on Magazine Bans

Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle Association applauded a decision by the Vermont Superior Court yesterday to allow a lawsuit challenging the State’s ban on standard capacity magazines to proceed.

“The National Rifle Association is pleased the court has allowed law-abiding gun owners to challenge Vermont’s unconstitutional ban on standard-capacity magazines,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “Magazine bans do not deter criminals or improve public safety. Instead, they unconstitutionally burden the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”

At issue in the lawsuit is one of the measures signed into law by Gov. Phil Scott on April 11, 2018 which bans the possession, sale, purchase, or transfer of long-gun magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds and handgun magazines with a capacity greater than 15.

“The only people impacted by this ban are the law-abiding citizens who will be forced to defend themselves, their families, and their homes from violent attack with sub-standard ammunition magazines. Wednesday’s ruling is a step in the right direction. The National Rifle Association will continue to fight for the rights of Vermonters to protect themselves,” Cox concluded.

Seems this organization needs to go the way of the do do since you support gun control agendas of the communists whose agenda is confiscation. Shame on this organization for supporting any form of gun control. I will not be renewing my membership when it comes do. Down right disgraceful.

Hey National Recreant Assoc.
YOU are responsible for the majority of the erosion of OUR GOD GIVEN, constitutionally enshrined 2A rights all the way back to 1934… and then you “fight” for OUR rights!!!???
… I found myself supporting (funding) an organization that caused another organization I supported (GOA) to spend my dues (funds) fighting a problem YOU caused.
I am no longer a member of your cowardly, money grabbing “club”
… of course the leadership want too preserve the value of their machine guns… don’t they.

One small step for mankind. Any win is a good one and the gun owners deserve all the help they can get.

Would they actually put a law abiding citizen in jail for owning a high cap magazine? And for how long? The USA now has over 2 million laws on the books, with more added everyday. The idea is to make criminals out of everyone.

Thank You NRA……we normal respectful citizens need protection over the courts who protect the criminals who are allowed to have anything they with wish in fire arms and ammo. The WEAPONS AND AMMO BLACK MARKET IS GROWING FASTER THAN ANYONE CAN IMAGINE. And the ONLY ones who are suffering from the gun control laws and those proposed will be us responsible citizens,,,,left naked unable to protect ourselves.

According to Article VI within the US Constitution: all officials and judges not in good standing will be Defunded, Disbarred, and Discharged. It’s a simple enforcement of Supreme Law. Petition your leadership (POTUS, Supreme Court, and your Local Senators, Congressman, and Legislators) to enforce Article VI!

“good standing” as defined by dhimmi-rat commie a**holes?

m. says: I’ve noticed, over a number of Ammoland articles, that all you do is call names and throw out ad hominem attacks. That gets us nowhere. How about adding something substantive to the conversation?

m.

will try mightily, how’s that?

To that end the judge made this statement when she dismissed the states motion to dismiss due to interest of public safety. she has hit on an essential fact that “the state wants to punish some of its citizens for crimes that they may potentially commit when the exercise their right to possess a firearm.” Vermont’s Constitution,Article 16,is even more straight forward the the 2 nd.. Article 16th. Right to bear arms; standing armies; military power subordinate to civil That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the State – and as standing… Read more »
